I just finished this book, with tears in my eyes. What remarkable women, what remarkable lives. It may be a work of fiction, but I’m going to pretend they were real bad a$$ babes.

Billed as Big Little Lies set in World War II Greenwich Village, The Godmothers does not disappoint and certainly lives up to the hype!

When the book opens Nicole is at dinner with her husband. He informs her that he is up for a job at the State Department and the FBI will need to do a full, deep investigation of their families. Needing some clarity, Nicole needs to reach out to her Godmother for some more details about their family.

We’re then introduced to The Godmothers, four sisters-in-law that come from different backgrounds and corners of the world (France, Ireland, Italy, New York). These tough cookies are truly the backbone of their family. Their strength and dedication is admirable.

The book starts off a little slow as you meet all the ladies and their back stories, but quickly becomes unputdownable.

This book is available tomorrow and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone interested in reading historical fiction!

Many thanks to @williammorrowbooks for an early copy of this fabulous book!
