Jane Yolen

Quite a long picture book biography of James Matthew Barrie, author of Peter Pan and many other plays and books, born in Scotland in 1860. Many quotes from Peter Pan and Wendy and related works are scattered throughout. The book describes Barrie's relationship with the Llewellyn Davis family; when the boys' parents died three years apart, Barrie became their official guardian. Before he died, he gifted the copyright for Peter Pan to the Great Ormond Hospital for Sick Children in London, where it continues to benefit children.
