Sobre mimI am 21 years old, and I work full time and go to school full time as an Accounting major. I am interested in all types of fiction, but I am especially drawn to Dystopian Literature and contemporary classics. Not much to tell about me; I'm just a simple Book Nerd. DFTBA.

Sobre a minha bibliotecaI own all of the books in my library and am working on reading them all before I buy any more.

Also, I'm trying to write reviews over every book I've read and own-- a trivial goal, but a goal, nonetheless. Most of the reviews I write are simple and to the point and are written mainly for me so that I will remember what I thought of the book.

How my rating system works:
I use the same rating system here as I use on Netflix:
5 Stars: Loved it!
4 Stars: Really liked it.
3 Stars: Liked it.
2 Stars: Didn't like it.
1 Star: Hated it.

Just a Note: I'm fairly easy to please, so there are a lot of 4 and 5 star ratings.

Hi Amanda,

Only 3 stars for The Road!!! But Oprah loved him!

Oh my. Nah, I can totally see how that's a book you either really love or it just leaves you scratching your head a bit, like, what was the point?

I actually preferred Blood Meridian slightly, over the Road. Though I'll tell you, it's equally as bleak, though at least there's black humor gallore, unlike the humorless Road.

Have you ever read Swan Song by Robert McCammon? It's like The Stand on steroids.

That Confederacy of Dunces you just added is a hoot btw. Will be curious to hear your opinion on it.
You have an excellent library !
It's available on Amazon now:

If you don't want to buy a copy, though, I'd be glad to send you trhe e-book version. Let me know.

Chris
Noticed you liked She's Come Undone, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a disturbed young girl's downward spiral and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

"I am a 20 year old college student currently in my third year, seeking a B.S.E. degree in English. That, sadly, pretty much sums me up for now" haha. Ditto!
Hi Amanda,

If I may offer you some unsolicited advice, you simply must read Less Than Zero and American Psycho (if you can stomach its misogynistic violence) BEFORE you read Lunar Park. Glamorama and The Informers don't really play much into the plot of Lunar Park as much as the other two. We have similar tastes, though I must say you are much prettier than I am. Sigh.

Thanks for the feedback, it's always nice to know when your thoughts aren't just dissipating into the ethereal intertron :) Best of luck with your reviewing goal! I'd like to do the same with my own library, but alas, procrastination....

Cheers!
~Mike
Hi Amanda -- re: Group Reads/Lit -- come on in! It's open to anyone and never too late to join. We're getting ready to choose the next book (which can take some time!) so your timing is really good.
Hi,

I have been to the Book Jungle before. I think it is so small and unassuming that I forget about it sometimes. They do have a great selection, for sure.
