Thank you Thank you Thank you,

I will contact librarything right now, thank you
Can I ask how you got on with 'Nietzsche's Footfalls'?
Thanks for the info on Dracula: The Undead. That's what I guessed. Since I can get it for free at the public library, I think I'll give it a try - nothing like a good disaster to really entertain! 8^}
You've read Nietzsche's Footfalls. What did you think?
Hmmm, such a shame I didn't read your review of Dracula:the Undead before forking out however much it was I forked out for it. I haven't actually read the book yet so I must try not to let your views influence mine too much but I have a feeling our conclusions may not be too far apart. I will say, though, that the review itself was well worth whatever I paid for the book.
Your review of "The Sheltering Sky" was exactly right. You displayed more understanding in a few paragraphs than did Bowles in his entire, wretched work. (And I use that word advisedly. It is not often that I find myself in the embarrassing position of reading an awful book. Thank you, Modern Library and the 100 Greatest English-Language Novels of the 20th Century, for luring me into reading wretched #97.)

Dear ElectricRay,

Apologies for not replying to your comment last November (!!). It's been a while since I checked my profile. Hofstader may rightly attack neurological reductionism but he continues to be reductive in the classical sense - if I recall correctly; it's a long time since I read the book and have - blissfully - forgotten most of it!
Hi ElectricRay.

Enjoyed your review of Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers, which I'm currently reading. It summed up my feelings about the book exactly.

Thank you for that wonderfully extensive review of "Understanding Power" by Noam Chomsky. I just picked up his book "hegemony or survival" and your commentary will definitely be in the back of my head as I trudge through it. I can only hope to contribute reviews as interesting as yours down the road. I just thought you should be made aware that your time is well spent constructing reviews.

Cheers,
Jim
Hi--I just read your review of No One Here Gets Out Alive. I think I would agree with you if I actually read the book, but when I got to the third paragraph of the forward, which begins, "My personal belief is that Jim Morrison was a god" I put it down. What kind of a biography could be written by someone who wears his hero-worship on his sleeve? I don't know how this book oozed its way into the house. (I always liked the Doors' music, though, and I still do.)
