Sobre a minha bibliotecaIn the Spring of 2006, we moved from one end of the country to practically the other and there is only so much that will fit on a moving truck. I had to get rid of a lifetime of books, keeping only a select few. I'm slowly re-stocking my library, replacing the books I gave away and finding new ones.

Thanks for the response! I'm actually reading Triptych right now...I started it as soon as I finished Undone. If what I've read so far serves as any sort of example of her work, I have a feeling I'll probably end up reading most if not all of Slaughter's books, she's that engaging. (I also just signed up for her newsletter.) I'll make sure to keep an eye out for Will as I do. Cheers!

Hi Nicola, I was reading your review for Karin Slaughter's Undone (the first book I've read of her's) and you mentioned that Will Trent appeared in some of the Grant County books. Do you happen to remember which ones? He was my favorite character, so I'm trying to track him down; I do know about Triptych and Fractured. Thanks for your help and Happy Reading!

Couldn't resist leaving you a comment, we have a few things in common. I am a 40ish (almost 50ish) homeschooling mom. We have 4 children, two still in school, both boys Our oldest son (3rd in order) also has Aspergers, he is a real treasure. I also have a daughter names Elyza Jean, and our oldest is Madelyne Jane. Thought the name thing was intresting. My daughter Madelyne, has books listed on Paperback Swap, a great place to get books.

LOL--well, you got me there! I haven't read A Dirty Job yet, but I've heard good things about it. I also have yet to read Lamb (gasp--can you believe a Moore fan who hasn't yet read that?) I'm glad you took my review for what it was meant to be, just a laugh and nothing serious. Some of my best friends are Republicans and I hold no ill will against them. :)

Reading in alphabetical order is kind of cool. There are a lot of books I own but have been putting off reading because there's always something new to read. I would have missed out on quite a few treasures if I hadn't started doing this!

Oh, I didn't think you'd left because of any time taken. It took me a year to review a 200 page book. I thought you'd left because the name ElizaJane isn't in the Group Zeitgeist members list. Huh. Weird. Glad to hear it's not the case. I enjoy your reviews very much and maintaining the wiki page means I'm more likely to read them more often.

I was so glad to find someone that was reading children's literatur. I pre-read all literature that goes throught he hands of my 9 year old grand daughter. As she is not home schooled, she is in a very fine Christian Private School and we are very protective of what she reads. I hope I can continue to find your library for suggestions.

I came because I used to be the sole possessor of John Patience's "A fairy tale treasure trove", and now it is you and I..I'm embarrassed though, I don't recognise any of your favourite authors, bar Agatha Christie. I'm surprised you got rid of so many books, although I'm always grateful when people I know do similar give-aways- it's how I got so many old classics. Couldn't you have got an extra van??

If you enjoyed Peter Carey's take on our Ned, have a look at Ian Jones's biography, beautifully written and thoroughly researched. I reviewed it on my site a few weeks back.

While many folks feel that Carey got the tone and the lilt of Ned's speech patterns just right, some aspects of the novel were dramatically licentious in the extreme - the disturbing role of transvestism, which, if it ever occurred at all, was for the purposes of disguise rather than titillation, and the existence of a daughter. Still, the book is a novel and is marketed as such, so Carey could put in whatever he liked. I feel the true story is much more interesting.

You may care to check out the best websites on Ned, such as Ironoutlaw, and Kellycountry2000. The Public Record Office of Victoria has put the original documents - thousands of them - dealing with the Kelly episode on the net as well.

Thanks for the pick on Go Review That Book! - I'd been in the mood for some fantasy, and The Summer Tree will do nicely. I've read three other of Kay's books, and can't recommend them highly enough. He's a fantastic writer, and his books are very absorbing. I'd start with Tigana or The Lions of Al-Rassan - although I'll let you know what I think about The Summer Tree! :)

I also really enjoyed your review of The True History of the Kelly Gang. It's coincidental timing... my hand was hovering above it this morning at a used book store, and I watched the movie Ned Kelly a few days ago. The movie wasn't fantastic (strange pacing, mostly), but I'll have to add the book onto my every-growing wishlist.

Thanks for the comment! I'll be adding more over the coming weeks, until I catch up with all of my previous or "prewritten" reviews...then I have practically a years worth of reviews to catch up on. This site it my incentive, as I promised myself I wouldn't post any book that I have not written a review for. :-)

I know what you mean about moving. Most of my major book culls have been because of moves. My last one (three years ago) cleared out about 20 percent of my collection and there are still some books I regret giving up and am trying to replace.

On another note, you have one of the few Catherine Anthony Clark books on librarything. They are hard to find!

Thanks for the interesting library add, ElizaJane :-). It's interesting... I am also a homeschooler (all the way from kindergarten through graduation). When my husband and I have children we will be homeschooling them as well. Nice to meet another homeschooler around these parts! :-)
