Sorry it took my so long to respond--I'm in process of moving! Inkdeath: I did like the ending....but I didn't love it. I think that is mainly because I didn't want it to end. I really wanted this story to go on and on! There is one part in particular that I didn't like, but I won't tell (maybe you've finished it by now?).

Hi,
I see your books on writing (we have a number of the same) and wonder if you are an active writer; if so, what motivates you, or helps you to center down? Probably too simple of a query - only mid-afternoon Monday and I feel exhausted! I keep purchasing books on writing, but don't apply myself to study them and get serious about writing! I've noted a couple titles in your library I intend to add...Patchett for one...and thanks for adding me to your interesting libraries list...I've been adding items, but haven't gotten to comments area for, welll, a year!

Hi,

I had fun comparing our libraries today. We definitely have the same taste in books! I love Ann Patchett and Thomas Moore's books too. I've read a lot of additional titles that you own, but haven't entered them because I don't own them. (All the Dennis Lehane and Jennifer Louden's, for example!) If I did that, we would have more than 55 matches. You also have a few that I have my eye on.
Yes, I have a huge collection. My boyfriend reminds me by walking around muttering, "Too many books, too many books..." I feel like I give away/sell quite a few, but I always bring home more.

hello and thanks for adding me to your interesting libraries list. I always appreciate it when someone takes a look at my titles and decides to comment, either by adding me to thier list or leaving a note. I looked at the books we share and, though its just a few, they're an interesting mix. A couple of King, a couple of musings on the novel and writing, a couple of classics, a couple of mystery/thriller type popular fiction, and a couple of cultrual/non-fiction perspective stories. This is a rather good reflection of my library, as I have pretty ecclectic tastes and do not turn my nose up at any written work. I look forward to traipsing through your library and hopefully finding some good titles to add to my shelves.

Curious how you found my library. I don't recall running across your screen name on the group where I spend most of my time, the 75 books group. ????

Also, looks like you write. What type of writing do you do?

I'm with you on writing "because we have to." I figure the good news is there are so many benefits to writing even - or perhaps especially - if one isn't doing it for publication, right? It's, for me, one of the great unexpected pleasures of writing. On the Writers page of my website, I lay out some of them (http://megwaiteclayton.com/writers.shtml - scroll over the flowers on the desk!). I'd love to hear others you've found. I'm thinking of pitching an article on the subject for one of the writers magazines - though they do all seem so focused on publication.

For the record - my shelf was built quickly because I imported the whopping 40 books I have on Shelfari. I won't even begin to tackle the crazy task Chris did with her kitty cat bar code reader.
