Sobre mimHello, my name is Luxx. Sometimes.

I'm a big nerd, living the life I've always dreamed of. My partner is the love of my life, I have a job I adore, a monster of a toddler whose smiles can right all wrongs, and a newborn who is king of all wild things. I go to bed happy every night. It's a great feeling.

Sobre a minha bibliotecaThe tags I use to organize my catalog reflect the actual organization of my books, which currently take up about 18 feet of my living room wall. Many of my current books come from being a lit student for the 5.5 years, and still more come from my obsessive desire to collect and keep. I enjoy collecting several editions of the same text (for example, the complete works of Shakespeare and Poe), and am a sucker for "pretty" publications. I'm more likely to purchase books than ever set foot in a public library, although I've spent my fair share of time in college libraries. In the end, I guess my library is a combined manifestation of my OCD and personal interests ... but I like it that way.

Of course, I'm not the only reader in the house. Here's the rest of the crew:

All good wishes to you!

That's sure true! So, if we were going to do it, what would you suggest for me? I have very strong opinions about what I like/don't like. B.
This is a great profile....
it made me smile just to read it!
Thank you for the heads up on Borders...
I may have to try to get out there today:)

Hey there my new found friend!~!
Thank you for your response. I appreciate it
and will let Mark know your preference.
It should be fun either way we go. The group
reads usually are.
You will be hearing more as the time draws nearer
and again I thank you Luxx.

Hi;
Mark and I have been discussing the possibility of another group read in November and want your input. We have narrowed it down to two books at this point. "The People of the Book" by Geraldine Brooks and "The Thirteenth Tale" by Diane Setterfield. So chat it up with friends or us and let us know if you are up for it and what you think. Probably the same plan as with "Pillars of the Earth" which seemed to work out perfectly for almost all of us.
Think it over and give one of us a shout.
hugs and looking forward to hearing from you,
belva
I have yet to read Carmilla, or Varney yet. I'm still getting around to reading the some of the classic vampire lit.

The Sonja Blue series is a bit more serious than Anita or Sookie and it's a bit of a different take on vampires than either of those.

I'm sitting here trying to remember what my first vampire book was, and I'm fairly certain it was The Silver Kiss as well. I read it when I was 12 though. I also read Blood and Chocolate right around the same time which led to a similar interest in werewolves.
Alright now I'm curious, do you have a favorite vampire book or series?

Mine is Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series.
Nancy A. Collins' Sonja Blue series and Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series are pretty high up on my list as well.
I've been thinking about reading both the Harper Connelly series and the Lily Bard series, I've been unsure whether or not I would like the Aurora Teagarden series. I do seem to have a inclination towards books involving the supernatural, though I enjoy many different genres and subjects.

Thanks for the feedback! You have a great library.

BTW, your book-themed nurseries are beautiful!
Hey Luxx, I was wondering which of Charlaine Harris' series you like best so far? I've only read her Sookie series so far and I've loved them. Judging on your ratings you loved them quite so much. You seem to rate books a bit more harshly than me though, I'm far too lenient in my ratings.
Sorry it took so long to accept and respond. If you keep up with my thread on the 75'ers page at all, you'll know I haven;t even been able to touch a book in almost two weeks. Too much work invading my free time. If I'm not reading, I'm not LT'ing either. In any case, thanks for the invite!
Welcome to the 75 Books Challenge group. Thanks for joining in!
Friends don't seem to be allowed yet, so this is the only way for you to see me. I've only added the books I currently own. I'm trying to remember all the books I really enjoyed when I was younger. Except for the "Sweet Valley High" series... in reality, I should be punished for ever reading the entire series. In my defense, I was 12 or 13.
