Sobre mimI've loved reading, and books, for as long as I can remember, and I'm currently in danger of my books outgrowing my ability to house them.

Sobre a minha bibliotecaThe bulk of my books are now in storage, as I've been hopping from rented place to rented place since I moved away from Glasgow in 2006 (first to England, now to Australia). Wherever I am though, I rapidly accumulate new books...

My books are predominantly fiction, with an emphasis on more recent stuff, but there's a reasonable amount of SF and fantasy stuff, and a decent collection of comics trades and graphic novels there as well.

Hi,

Was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Saw you liked The Wasp Factory, and I thought you might like my novel since it's also about a disturbed adolescent and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Thanks,

Hello Mike,

I finished reading The Uncommon Reader this morning! What a great book--I really enjoyed it. Such dry, understated wit, and a wonderful concept. Of course, and this may be the extreme lack of sleep talking here (I didn't sleep much last night), I couldn't help but wonder if the Queen herself has read it. ::grin:: How weird would it be for her to read a book about her, reading books? So, thank you again--excellent choice. I look forward to the next one!

Happy New Year!
Hello Mike (a.k.a. Secret Santa!),

My books were waiting for me when I got home just now. Thank you so much! I'm really looking forward to reading them. I'd never heard of either one and they both sound quite fabulous. I think you picked the perfect ones for me. Looks like we have some similar tastes in reading material. What a great collection of books you have!

Happy Christmas, and I hope you got something great from whoever your Secret Santa was. :-)

Hello. I', a 33 year old teacher whos house cannot contain his books. Only 3 of us read No Telling. It blew me away. What did you think of it?
hey you're the only person I share Jellyroll with. Did you not like his other books?
Number one on my shared list.... perhaps we just reflect the fact thats theres just nothing much to do?!
We 'share' Too Small for Basketball :-)
3,500+ books catalogued, phew! My New Years resolution= read, and catalogue lots more books!
Hiya,

We have 65 books in common so far, which is quite a surprise since I've only added about 450 of the 3000+ books in my house so far. It'll be interesting to see what the number reaches when I've finished...

Cheers
Simon
Cool! 200 books in common. You have a full sixth of my library at your place. Not bad considering that a quarter of my books are in French or about non overlapping hobbies. You're on my watchlist now.
Hi

I've logged 30-something books so far and share 15, and not just familar titles as well. When I finally finish putting all mine on would be interesting to see if you have some of the titles I consider obscure (as in, took a while to find in shops).

Anyway, enjoy Lincoln, lived there until age 20 (my parents live near there).

James
I've only logged 41 of my collection so far and already we share 26...it must be a Glasgow thing.
What good taste you have :-D

I think you would like Ursula Le Guin's short stories from the stuff we have in common.
I have an author suggestion for you, Dave Eggers. I think you'd really love him. He's only written a few but 'You shall know our velocity...' is his best. Any advice for me?
you're number 2 on my list but I really suggest you read the Warlord Chronicles by Bernard Cornwell. then you'll be number 1!
I'm very impressed that you have 55 of the same books as me. Considering I only have an inadequate 130 books listed, that's very impressive. What did you think of Hotel World? I thought it was pretty awful myself but who throws out books?
I'm very impressed you can fit that many books into a small flat! :) We've only got about 2000 here and it's a three bedroom!
Hi Mike,

What can I say, thousands of miles apart, yet share moments with our hearts and minds lost in the same words and sentences.

Alana
We share odd books. Who else has Al Qaeda and What it Means to Be Modern AND American Gods AND Hey Nostradamus?
Hi Mike

I'm in Glasgow too - and you are also #1 on my shared list. Perhaps we just use the same bookshop :) ?
You're number 1 on my shared list.

Cheers!
Stewart
Interesting -- you're also #2 on *my* shared list.

I'm cleaning up the Neil Gaiman listings, and thought you might want to fix "Books of Magic: Death After Death." All the Books of Magic after the first are actually by John Ney Reiber, not Neil Gaiman.
Like everyone else, you have most my books! Still cataloguing, and you have 160 of mine!

will browse your list. any recommendation? :)

Mike
Profile name "WhoElse"
Whoa, we have 181 of the same books (and I haven't even finished my catalogue uploading yet) - pretty impressive overlap :)

Going to add you to my watchlist and have a good look through your catalogue to see what else might be of interest...
Hi, I have only read the first couple of issues of Authority - Revolution. What is the latter part like?

cheers,

bt
Lol! No. 1 on my list of 'what I'm reading', started this month.
Hi Mike,

It's Carissa... You are #2 on my "users who have the same books as you." It's either 36 or 38. I don't remember which. Such a small world. I'm going to go look at the rest of your list. :)
