Sobre a minha biblioteca"My library" starts off with a list of the books I have read this year (whether borrowed or owned), followed by a chronicle of all the books which currently live with me. I have many more collections however:
-"TBR" pulls out any books (borrowed or owned) which need to be read
-"2008" is a fledgling list of the books I read last year
-"ESL library" is hint at some of the many many books in my classroom
-"Read long ago and far away" are all the books which I have read at some point in my life. I might possibly own many of these books still, but I won't know until I brave my mom's attic to rescue them
-"Wishlist" is, of course, a list of books I want to read

So that's all for now. I'll be moving very soon into a loft with a great little library nook, so look for pictures near the end of July!

Thanks for letting me know! I hope you enjoy the book. The author is very enthusiastic and seems very nice, it is unfortunate it turned out to be just the kind of fantasy I haven't got the patience for. I'd love to hear what you think of it when you have the chance to read it.

I just now found your reply...
and cleaned out my messages so it doesn't happen again.
Also I have been very distracted recently, having lost a friend last week..

Well, hey right back to you, fellow Tar Heel and teacher --- but (you may not have noticed), I'm retired!
Just want to wish you a speedy recovery with that eye of yours. I will be thinking of you.
I just wanted to drop by and say I appreciated your review of People of the Book! I picked it up to glance at it a week or so ago, but the back cover, for some reason I can't remember, made me think I wouldn't enjoy it. Now, I'll be picking it up :) It amazes me how so many of the books I love sound incredibly unappealing from the back cover synopsis, and how often those synopses sometimes just don't do their job at all!
Thanks, I have never read any james joyce B4 so It should be a treat , thanks for the giveaway.
I loved The Sound of Building Coffins as well. Whatever he writes next, I'll be waiting in line for it!
Ah! The wonderful 42. I can end my quest now ;-)
Hi again,

Your review made perfect sense to me :) It's the kind of book, I think, where the kind of review that attempts to put across a synopsis isn't too helpful. A more emotional, gut reaction tells much more about the book -- which is exactly what you did.

Anyway, thanks again, so much for your kind words. And yes, you've made my day twice in a row now!

all best,
Louie
Re your question in "Go Review ...", the simple way is just to paste in the link which you find in the address bar of your browser while you're looking at the page you want to link to, or can get by a right click on a link and select "copy link address" or similar from the menu in most browsers. For tidier possibilities with a bit more effort, see the hints in user Noisy's profile.
Hello Miss Teacher --

I just finished reading your review of my novel, "The Sound of Building Coffins," and wanted to tell you that you have made my day.

I'm so glad that you liked it, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for telling people about it. It's people like you who make this often-scary-and-intimidating publishing business a happier place to be.

Thanks again - and all best wishes from New Orleans,

Louie

Love the little kitten pic :)
It made me want to go to LOLcats to look..
so I rudely stole your idea and put a catpic on my profile...
:P

have a wonderful, easy, happy weekend

This is the note I got from an author

Esta -- thank you so much for the incredible review of A Wall of White -- I'm very glad you enjoyed the book and really appreciate your glowing feedback. I particularly love that you singled out Bridget for recognition -- what an amazing dog!

Mary?

Are you still here?

Hi! Jose Buendia is not my name, just a tribute to One Hundred Years of Solitude, one of my favorite novels.
Hello again,
Bel Canto is a terrific book!

Yup! Your picture makes me laugh every time I see it.

By the way (just so you don't think that I'm calling myself pretty) - my name (JolieLouise) is in reference to a song by a Canadian music producer/artist - Daniel Lanois. I love him and, though Jolie Louise is not my favorite song of his, have used that name online for years.

I had a friend who taught ESL for awhile. I think I would enjoy that. I love languages and I really enjoy people from other countries. Do you like it?
Pretty Pam (just kidding :))
Your picture is hilarious!
