Hi MrAndrew.
Thanks for getting in touch with me. Your list is very interesting. I can see some books that I would definitely like to read. On the subject of "Dracula" -- I think it is one of the best books I have read. Have you read any of the Horatio Hornblower books by the way?
I think I will read A Private Cosmos next.
Cheers -- Charles
by the guggenheim, do you mean my house? Because I love hats! leave them to me!

I'll try to scare up a few vamp friends to introduce your wife to. Mua ha ha ha. Don't blame me if suddenly she takes to wearing scarves!
Hi Andrew!

I was just thinking about you and Donna yesterday! I watched Australia last night and thought it was a magnificent film. I HAVE to go to Oz land one day!

I miss you too! No one makes me laugh like you do, Andrew. NO ONE!
Your contributions regarding sockpuppetry elevate you to comedy icon in my (rather limited) world. Thank you for affording me such entertainment.
Hi Andrew
Got that for you. I'll let you know how I get on
Cheers
Donogh
Ha, Ha, you said booty.
PS. The last name of my nom de plume (if you include LT forum posting in the definition of "authorship") actually refers to a prominent Family Name found in a set of works by an author we share...
Dude!

I died laughing with the "Ms. Balthasar Short" line ... Thank you for enlivening LT with your belletristic wit!

(And I was all proud of myself today because I found out that "aposiopesis" is a legitimate use for ellipses, of which I am inordinately fond... ) *grin*
Hey MrA!!!

Just wanted to thank you lots and lots and lots for the candles. The packaging was wonderful, you should be very proud of yourself :-)

If I can send anything to you guys, just let me know. (WITHIN REASON!! I know you...)

N
xx
Thank you :)

However, I have only points for one book now. I will mooch it, but you can delay the sending. For the other 3 books, I need to get two mooches. One of those I know for certain, as I'm going to send out a book in the beginning of September to the US. I will try to get people to mooch from me sooner though, so I can mooch the other books as soon as possible :)
The Dutch Tarzan books I have are from 1971-1973 (except #1), so I don't mind that they're a bit older. I'm still interested :) I did not expect to find new editions anyway.
How long has she been stuck up? Maybe you should try to pull her down. :o)
Hey MrA, good to hear from you, even if only a tiny bit. Is Donna working too hard too? I miss both of you! You really liven up the threads!

~Cristina
I just read your latest posts. I've missed you! Please keep popping by whenever you can!
Okay, okay. *sigh* If I must.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!! Ok, ok, I'll take the candles!!

That's really lovely, thank you.

xx
MrA, I hate to tell you this, but you're wrong about the bear hat. It's actually black silk masks that are incredibly comfortable, and about to catch on, as Wesley told the giant.
Hi MrA! I read on the what are you reading thread that you are reading [The House of The Spirits] and I just wanted to say I really really liked that book. How are you liking it so far? and when you finish it let me know so we can comment about it...I would love to know the reaction of someone reading it in English or if there is too much lost in translation.

Have a great one! and say hello to MsD from me.

Ron
who are you and why do you want to know what was in one of my posts?
You are. You're a very bad man. Naughty MrAndrew! ;)
So I'm not generally a fan of people mocking other people but the vowel thing made me giggle.
Hi MrAndrew,
Stalking you around LT because you make me laugh. Like your tags. Why only one testicle?
Fur is murder.
Hi,

Was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Saw you liked The Wasp Factory, and I thought you might like my novel since it's also about a disturbed adolescent and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Thanks,

Chris
Since Twilight is your favorite, I had to come tell you I'm reading the copy you sent. :P~

Really, thanks for letting me have the extra.
ROFL

oh Andrew.... :D

heehee
Did Baldrick ever get his large turnip in the country?
Hi MrA! hey we are all in the chat room why don't you join us and you can save some posts :p
:oP~~~~~~~~~~~~~

X-Men had the coolest, strongest women. The movies didn't do them justice.
Sweet! There's a movie and a comic book based on the YouTube video?

I admit, I grew up with comic books and action figures. I never read Watchmen though. I did wait forever for Professor Xavier to invite my to come to his school and make me an X-Man, similar to how many people we know wait for their invitation to Hogwarts.

And gee whiz, MrA, how deprived were you that you didn't read comic books? I'm so sorry.
Why did you write oook. in the "About my library" section? Is that code? Onerous ones overlook knowledge? Optimal order of kings?

Oh! I had a reason for stopping by! I saw your smurf-onality on Green Dragon and thought you might enjoy the recent video from Just Some Random Guy.

http://www.youtube.com/user/ItsJustSomeR...

~Cristina
Your library? oook? Don't you love misspelling for the whole world to see?
It's 2009! I want my bear head hat!
Yes, that was my son's response. :o)
My daughter said, "Scary! Do it again!"
Thank you so much for your kind comment and for warning me I was doing something wrong by putting a link to my book blog in a post! I totally did not know that was wrong! I have deleted the post that was causing the problem! Thanks so much! I'm fairly new to LibraryThing and didn't know .. I was just trying to share an author interview I had done as a result of getting an Early Reviewer book. Thanks again!
Every time I see fire footage I worry about you and MsD. I hope you are both well.
Do not be alarmed. The cat is merely YAWNING. Or, perhaps, leading an army of the undead and preparing to strike his next victim. But I think he was just yawning, since I took the picture and lived to tell of it.
You called Clam and me nerds! LOL!!
Of course I did D~
mrAndrew, your comments would have been more than welcome, although i suspect the thread was still-born and we may both regret trying to massage its tiny heart while horrified housewives stare on wide-eyed, fingertips in mouth...you know the one.
time is on our side until it gives up on us.
Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!

Every day you crack me up MrA! Please keep it up!
Bullets? I have people for that! They handle bullets for me.

The secret of the inverted dates is the Top Secret strategy the colonies used to gain their independance. This also worked during WWII. What do you think D-DAY stands for?

Nun chuck skills... why does that sound hilarious? And why do I picture your practice sessions with such hilarity? I mean a girl tears up just trying to grasp that tidbit. Are you on U-Boob (U-Tube)? And do you wear the bear while you nun chuck?
Ah MrAndrew,

Your collection defies neat categorization. Someone who reads science fiction and Iris Murdoch? Neil Gaiman and Jeanette Winterson? The Book Analyst must give this one some thought.

Cheers,
Mary
Hey MrA just wanted to wish one of the funniest man I have had the pleasure to meet through LT a Happy New Year...and with that in mind can you tell me where can I find this guy??

Seriously I wish you and your loved ones a year full of blessings and books!!!

P.S. Aren't the dark side cookies the best??? kik
Yeah! I know its a holden whatsit!! I loved it! Thank you. It looks just like the Asten Edward drives *dreamy sigh* *vivid daydreams of driving off into the sunrise*. Is it sad that I've been carry it around in my coat's chest pocket?? Naw. You never know when I'll need to make a fast getaway.

the packing was great. I was just teasing, and yes, just a little jeleous of your mad skills.

btw, how many months do you have in the Ozian calendar? There is an advertisement for a contest cleverly hidden on my car keys and the deadline to enter is 15/09/2008. What is that Quincember? Quintober? fifteenary?
Got it. Thanks!
Hahahaha, yeah, she definitely got us but good. I bet we can come up with something... Though I have to say, I'm glad she got the package first - it would have been far less fun for everyone else if it hadn't worked out that way :)

Let me know what you think of the book - I hope you enjoy the Extra Ender as much as I did - and I still want more!
You are a very bad man. Hater.
far-fung. are you in the chinese mafia? Is that your gang name? far-fung aka andrew.
Happy Chrissie and stuff to you and the wifey person. :)

Hope it's a good one!

K
If I run across a likely read I open the book, see what anonymous has done to in way of possession of the book and counting the book a lucky find I sometimes discover - maybe -the personality of the previous reader(s) by their comments on a phrase or paragraph, word.
BWAAAH-HAAAH-HAAAAAH-HAAAAAAAH!!!
Fonzi saying "Aye" on the rumor thread may not make you the Supreme Being, but it put you way ahead in the Cracks Me Up score for today!
Hey MrA,
In my quest for regal attire, I found MsDonna's object.

http://www.englishmonarchs.co.uk/crown_j...

The Orb, a golden globe topped by a diamond encrusted cross dates to 1661 for the coronation of Charles II and is symbolic of the world ruled by Christianity, it is held in the monarch's left hand during the coronation ceremony. The jeweled cross which surmounts the orb reflects the monarch's title of Defender of the Faith.
hehehe!

That is so stuck in my head now!

And the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then, lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.'
*waves* back 8] Long time, no see!
dirigible
but didn't you just add it to your library? Yanno, FishyFace may live to give me shit, but I think you live to confuse the shit outta me! :-P
PleeeeeasepleasepleasepleasePLEEEEAAASSS... will you and MsD let me know what you think of the new Ender book once you've read it? I'll probably get it anyway, but if it's seriously disappointing, I may boycott.
How do you get the tilda over the "n"!?!?! It's been driving me insane.
But he's hot. Time to poke your eyes out again Wendy.

PS - Gotta add I love the name Wendy - pity help any male child we have.
PS. I know he's strange.
Ha Ha. Wendy thinks you're strange.
yea he's pretty excited about doing a little shopping.
Well the hubby is going to Melbourne on Friday, but it looks like he'll be work 12-14 hour days so i'm not coming with him this time but we're hoping to be able to go in the next couple of years and make a big trip out of it.
You are a sad, strange little man and I pity you.
Why? Wot's on in Melbourne?
Didn't realise you were another Sydney bod!
Inigo: An interesting profile. Gave me a giggle on a long difficult day. Thanks. Mary Lou
ARRRGH!
Hi Andrew! Listed it both and reserved for you. :) Here's my BM ID. http://www.bookmooch.com/m/inventory/sta...
oh my that is far :(. yes, my husband has to go there for business and i'm thinking of joining him. He could be going to sydney but most likly Melbourne. then we might stay a little longer to take a little vacation.
Thanks for the interesting libraries add! You also have great books. A lot of Ursula K Le Guin -- I'm just about to crack open my copy of "The Wizard of Earthsea", a book that's been recommended to me pretty much since elementary school but I never got around to reading. I'm also intrigued by the eclectic title of "Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat." My eyebrows shot up to skyscraper heights when I saw it. I often mistake people for moving targets, sudden obstacles, and pillows, but rarely headwear.
Are you still looking for suggestions for the weekend? You shouldn't read Lamb or Me Talk Pretty One Day unless you want to laugh out loud a lot. You shouldn't read Bel Canto if you don't want a really good story.

Good Luck!
She's not laughing at you, she's laughing near you!
After reading the Enlighten Us thread I now understand the bear headgear! It is part of you persona. I think I laughed all the way through you post, but the biggest laugh was to discover that your favorite book is Twilight. That Edward sure is dreamy!

Anyway, thanks for the good laugh! That thread was getting way to long, and not a fun long like long post month. That lucky Donna must laugh all day long, that is when she is not making candles. :)
Just dropping by to say hello my friend.
I had rather figured that was the case. Not being a stand-up comedienne myself, I can appreciate the challenge of producing snappy comebacks. But it was fun while it lasted.
I actually have several hobbies, and I wasn't reading an old thread. I read it at the time it was being posted, but didn't think it would go away so quickly. By the time I realized I sort-of missed it, it was gone. So my comment was just a belated "thanks for the laughs!"

Still . . . maybe I do spend a little too much time on LT . . .
It's probably too late, but I really enjoyed your "Ask Unca Andrew" column.
Seltzer man! Clear soda water! Everyone knows the MSG in soy sauce just coagulates into an artery hardening mass that that raises the cholesterol in outer galaxies!

And cat says it ruins the phlogiston too. (Where does she get these words?)

Peas and larder,
Cristina
So nice to see the trademark MrA wit back on your profile. Love the Grand Poobah hat. Or is it Clan of the Cave Bear?

BTW, try pouring a little seltzer on the universe stain, I'm sure no one will notice.
;o)

Peace and Laughter,
Cristina
Yeah, I had that problem for awhile. For a couple of days the things I posted never showed up and then it just started working again. There isn't much happening in the forums anymore anyway it seems.
And why oh why are you wearing a hat with teeth? Not that it doesn't have a certain Neville Longbottoms's grandmotherly charm to it, what with the moth-eaten carnivore motif and all, but ummm... ewww?
What? You don't call anymore, you don't write. Is it my breath? My armpits? My alternative and yet intriguingly exotic lifestyle and love of cold canned pasta products? How's things over there in the upside-down?
You're welcome! We're both really happy you like the sweater and sketch.

cat
behind you, behind you
Happy now? I added a book:-)

Only a few more to go.
2 bits, 4 bits, 6 bits a peso!
All for Zorro, stand up and say so!

Yes, I love that movie. :o)

Now where can I stick figjam on the threads?

Cristina

Sooo... What's it like in the future? ;)
RE: your rant on GD

" the owners are radical anarchists and are actively seeking to disrupt the petty bourgeoisie approach to sorting books that our society slavishly follows"

Awesome rant.. seriously.. well done!
Gwt /BS

That up there should have been the start of 'Hey Andrew!' but my fingers were one key off. Oops! So this is 'k00kaburra' over at Bookmooch, just sayin' howdy and thanks for all the Angel moochin' you've been doing lately. It's awesome.
Bwa-ha-ha!!
Testicle? Really?
