Hello from Saint John! Yes, I enjoyed the Cahill although a friend of mine said he enjoyed his (Cahill) book on the Irish better. I have a copy but haven't had a chance to read it yet....I'm afraid I have a lot of books that fall into that category! I too love cozy mysteries....have been reading some Jane Langton lately. I have really liked almost all of them with the exception of one I recently read which took place in Florence and was called The Dante Game. I loved her book set in Concord.....it made me want to go there. I have read one Lea Wait....and enjoyed it. Was Shadows on the Ivy any good? I LOVE P. D. James and am presently reading The Private Patient. James must be close to ninety but she still writes so well. Like you, I don't like gory murder novels or anything too "forensic", although I enjoy watching the CSI shows on tv.
Also...I have a question for you since you like Canadian lit. I was asked to suggest some good Canadian books for a friend to take to a relative in Portugal. I recommended Alistair MacLeod's No Great Mischief and Mitchell's Who Has Seen the Wind? Do you have any suggestions? The man in Portugal speaks and reads English very well.

Hi from another Maritimer! Thanks for adding me to your "interesting library" list. I've just come in from a used book store where I picked up a couple of L.M. Montgomery's that I didn't have. My niece is coming to visit me this summer (she is from Seattle) and is a big "Anne" fan. Just like I was at her age (10) and of course, I still am. I will have to take a look at your books....I see we have quite a few in common. I am reading Sailing the Wine Dark Sea (Why the Greeks Matter) by Thomas Cahill as I am going to Greece this summer....and want to be prepared! However, I really prefer fiction. I read a lot of Canadian literature and I like mysteries. I see a few interesting ones you have added lately....I have read the Lea Wait and enjoyed it. bye for now, Brenda
