Sobre a minha bibliotecaEver expanding!

I joined a wonderful online reading group in June 2006 - you all know who you are!! - and since then I've discovered more and more books plus sites such as this. It is through them that I now catalogue books and keep a record of what I've read. So although there are many books out there that I've read and no longer have, I haven't catalogued them.

I've set up tags to show authors until I've read every one I already own by them. Eek! Might take me a long time lol!

My Top Ten from 2008
Cinema Panopticum by Thomas Ott
Blind Faith by Ben Elton
Monster Love by Carol Topolski
The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein
A Gathering Light by Jennifer Donnelly
Fingersmith by Sarah Waters
The Rabbit Factory by Marshall Karp
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
The Victorian Chaise-Longue by Margharita Laski
State of Happiness by Stella Duffy

Thanks Sam. I've never actually gotten around to reading any Margaret Atwood yet, so this is a bit of a challenge. I'm determined to read it though as I've had good things about her books. My challenge to you is The Chemistry of Death by Simon Beckett. I read it last year and really enjoyed it.

Hi Sam, thanks for the challenge, I've been keen to read Alias Grace for quite some time. For your challenge I would like you to read 'Brazzaville Beach' by William Boyd. I have no idea what it is like so I'm eager to hear what you think of it. Cheers.

P.S I will put 'Italian Folktales' in the post for you this week (promise).

Great choice, Sam and one I'll look forward to.

I am going to challenge you to read The Marriage Bureau for Rich People by Farahad Zama. I hadn't heard of it before seeing it in your library and it might be fun. I'll look forward to hearing what you make of it.

Hi Sam thanks for your challenge. My challenge to you is The Passion of New Eve by Angela Carter. I hope you enjoy it. Val x
Hi Sam, thanks for my challenge. I would like to challenge you to The Castle of Crossed Destinies by Italo Calvino.
Hi Sam

Sorry I didn't reply before I only acquired the Women and the Great War a couple of weeks ago and not had a proper look at it yet. I'm sure it will be very interesting and look forward to discussing it with you at some future date, either on the weekends away or days out in York.

PS thanks for your challenge and I'll be challenging you soon, hopefully later on today while Paul is watching the football and my farmville is up to date, lol.
Hi
Lovely challenge, thank you!
Mine to you is - Popcorn by Ben Elton because I liked it!

Hi Sam,
Thanks for the challenge. I've chosen I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings. I have this on my tbr pile too so hope to read it next year as well.

Cheryl
DO find time - I absolutely loved it; it's probably amongst my top 10 all time favourite books. Yes, it's big, very big, but I ripped through it.
Hi Sam,

For the 2010 challenge, please would you read Boy A, by Jonathan Trigell? I have this on my tbr, and I also want to try and read this one.

Hope you enjoy it!
Ruth

Hi Sam. Given your choice for me last year, and given that I prefer to set challenges with books I've read, I was really tempted by An Unsuitable Boy! However, have gone for another, somewhat slimmer, favourite: Compton Mackenzie's "Whisky Galore". Hope you enjoy it.

Will
Hi Sam, Thanks for the choice - I was tempted to read it as it was one of the nominated books for our weekend so it is good to get the extra encouragement. Can I ask you to read 'The Prince' by Niccolo Machiavelli and I will try to read it as well, love Shona x
Hi Sam. Thanks for the challenge and look forward to it. I bought it quite recently.
I would like to challenge you to read The Water Babies by Charles Kingsley. Hope you enjoy it.

Hi Sam
Thanks for the short read challenge, very kind of you, xx
I'd like to challenge you to read Grotesque by Natsuo Kirino, as if I remember right we both loved Out and I have this too so am hoping neither of us will be disappointed.
Liz xx
Thank you for the challege, Sam. Emma and Me is a book I have had for quite a long time, and I will look forward to reading it.

I would like to challenge you to read Red Leaves by Paullina Simons; I will aim to read it myself next year too.

Love, Helen
Hi Sam, thanks for your challenge. For your challenge I have chose Silence in the Grave by Deanna Raybourn - I nearly picked this for my book of the month. Hope you enjoy it! Vanessa
Sam, for the 2010 challenge I have chosen The Other Side of the Story by Marian Keyes for you to read. I loved it, so hope you do too.
