You make it easy to be kind. And YES! please do let me know if you ever do make it over here, it would be wonderful to meet up wouldn't it?

I finally got a new scanner (my old one gave up the ghost), so I've been able to scan your book now and add the cover properly into my library if you want to check it out sometime. Looks great :-)
Your book arrived yesterday! Oh! It's so beautiful. I'm just so very, very pleased with it. I sat down right away and looked at each picture, just drinking in all the beauty and now I'm taking my time reading it and looking at the pictures again and again. I love it. I just wish I could have gotten you to sign it somehow. You are an amazing photographer Scott. I wish you could come here and see our mountains, I think you would love the Rockies and the Coastals, the Olympics (even though they are in the US ;-) ) and the Beaufort Range right here on my own dear Island. I'd love to see the pictures you could take of them. Thank you for adding some beauty in my life.
my dear, it is you. looking at your library and with your wonderful handle, i felt sure it was. what a smile this brings.

we miss you but it was obviously time for you to move on. I'm just so happy to see your name. you've always one of my abmx-h heroes. i learned so much from you and still have many of your walls. :)

i enjoy your photographs too and, if i may, will pass along your new site to the abmx-h folk. there will be general rejoicing.

I'm still doing the odd wall, generally for TNs and my style has changed a lot. I'll put a few up on smugmug, been meaning to anyway, and post you the link.

oh, d'Arc's partner died very suddenly about a month ago of a stroke. you do remember d'Arc, yeah? it was very hard, very sad.

take care. see you around LT. :)

i can't tell you what a joy it is to see your name. made me smile all over my face. :D

hey Tane--i'm wondering if we know each other from abmx-h. if yes, wonderful to see you. if not, well, i have very good associations to your name. :)

cheers,

md
Hi Tane! I can't remember if I've told you yet, but I really look forward to your pictures every week. It always makes me look at the world in a new way. Thanks so much for sharing! Happy Reading (and photo-taking)- Emma
Love the colored pencils piccie!
Tane: It's always interesting to see your photos! Do continue to post them.

I have downloaded it to my computer. Thank you so much! Very very generous of you :) I'll let you know how it goes with my FiL.
That's what I thought but when I looked at IMDB it had Doug Jones as Abe. Now I see his voice was uncredited. You got me!
Great swan photo, Tane. Please tell me how to do that...post a photo from my files. I would so appreciate it.

Ohhh I know! I always get sad when I finish a book I've enjoyed tremendously. Specially when I have to say goodbye to all those lovely characters. That happens to me a lot with Neil and with Stephen King. Their characters always make me feel as if I've known them forever, as if they're right there speaking to me.

About Watchmen... well, I did enjoy it. I loved it. I might read it again from the beginning soon. :) But I never ever update my profile page (well, I did, recently), so it still says I'm reading it. And if I start again, it doesn't make sense to change that to the title of the book I'm currently reading, right? :P
Hi :) Ohhhhhh Neil. I adore Neil. I have a friend who's met him and even collaborated with him in a book! I could just die. This was a long time ago, apparently, and it was a small-ish comic book. But still... Neil! And he has the loveliest voice, don't you think? I'm thinking of starting a collection of his audiobooks narrated by him. I don't like audiobooks, but for him, I'd make an exception! :D

So how are you liking Sandman so far? I only have the first book, Preludes & Nocturnes. I have to add to my collection. But I read all of them years ago, borrowed from a friend who introduced me to Neil's work, in fact. :)

Oh, yes, I've become a huge Lost fan recently. And when I saw Brian's name in the credits, I went "Woohoo!! I knew there was a reason for the great writing!" Hahaha
Ohh, thanks! Ok, I'll wait for Maggie's return, then. :) And for her pictures, too!!

Oh, I know, isn't Fables the greatest? I fell in love with it in the very first issue. I haven't read them all yet, I'm like 1/3 of the way or so. And I did read all of Y: The Last Man, another favorite. I loved Yorick's lines and his wit.

I also tend to shy away from "superhero" comics, that's why I don't like Marvel titles too much. I'm more into DC Vertigo.

My first love was The Sandman, obviously. Fantasy, myth, faerie tales... :)
Yay, thank you! :) Who manages the Flickr account? I sent a request to be added this afternoon. :P

Ohhh I see you recently added some issues of Bill Willingham's Fables! I love that comic! Have you read them already? I confess I have some issues as scanned files (shh! don't tell anybody), but I do want to start collecting the TPBs. :)
Good to see you!
:o)
Just another fan note on your photography blog. I'm amazed! You get better every time I drop in there!
Thanx Tane!

I figured if they can do it in a board game... (cant remember the name of said game...) Then we can most certainly try it here... *evil snigger*

Thanks for posting the origami peace crane site. I am going to do this with my US history 11th grade classes as a beginning of the year activity! The wonderful 3-D animation makes it so doable that even butter-fingered me was able to follow it. That one site you listed, that you labeled as something you had never seen before, isn't working right now due to heavy volume. I'm dying to see what was so weird even you couldn't classify it!
I checked it out and played a bit. I don't see it as my home page but it's a useful link repository, anyway!
I've just been ogling your flickr account and you take some looooovely photos. Where in Somerset are you based? I grew up visiting Minehead about twice a year so I'll always have a soft spot for Exmoor.
Hey Tane!

Still have no net at home so having to use the net cafe or go to the library and talk to you all there but other than that life is good.

When ya comming to southampton?
I'll keep an eye out for it. Looks like it is set in my neck of the woods!
:o)
Wanted to tell about my ALICE but could not add on to thread! I have the Pennyroyal Edition:designed and illustrated by Barry Moser. It's @ 13 x 9 inches. Preface & notes by James R. Kincaid. Pub. by Univ. of California Press in 1982. Text in black, margin notes in red. Wish I could show it to you! Esta
Just wanted to say that I check out your photography blog at least once a week now! I am so impressed. Thanks for sharing the link.
Depends on what your definition of 'good' is...
;o)
Yes, it was good to see you there, too! I wish I could have stayed longer, but Saturdays are usually insane for me this time of year.
:o)
Again, thanks! I am sort of a fake on Flickr since mine are not photos. ~~~~And to think you came all the way over the ocean to comfort me!!!
Hello! Checked out your blog... your pictures are great! My favorite was Midnight Feast. Obviously you are very skilled. I took two photography classes in college but I don't have the attention span for that kind of detail. Well, have a great day!
I've actually been quite crabby today, but I'm feeling a bit better.
Hope all is well in Taneville!
:o)
Best of luck!
:o)
Um, are you going to get yourself a LibraryThing Author Badge?
Oh, it's just too cool, even if it was just your grocery list!
You've been PUBLISHED!
:o)
And another?

Hi Tane:

I've been anticipating Mass Effect, but I don't have an Xbox (nor the funds for one), so I'm waiting for it to come out for PC. From what I've heard, it's a cool game. Thanks!

Me too! I've grown tired of hitting refresh waiting for more pix to show up!
