Sobre mimBritish or English whatever the correct form is these days. Living with my eldest sister at the moment and even though there are 2 women and 2 dogs in a small space we seem to manage ok without killing each other (subject to change of course). Looking for a decent paying job so that I can fulfil some of my dreams, at least before age starts to win the race.

My name is Jac, Jacquie, Jacquelynn, TheBookImp or just Imp and the things I'm interested in are:

Writing, reading, dogs (especially mine), photography, cooking, walking, music, travelling, learning, genealogy, getting lost in my imagination and avoiding relationships.

There are others but can't think of them at the moment.

Picture is my dog Milo a Staffordshire bull terrier cross, what with though? The vet seems to think German shepherd. Not exactly sure how old he is as he was a rescue dog but somewhere in the region of 5 and he’s been with me for about 3 years.

Sobre a minha bibliotecaDiverse, large, incomplete and packed in boxes mostly.

There are a selection of my books added to my library on here and I add to them when I remember, especially when I get some new ones which happens fairly often. I add in library books because LT acts as a reminder of what I've read even if I don't own.

Did I say fairly often?! of course I meant to say constantly ;)

Sorry this doesn't really have anything to do with books.

Positively Cleveland- Hastily Made Video Contest

Here's the Cleveland Tourism video my wife and I made this weekend. Tell anyone you can to watch it too. We need a lot more views before Wednesday May 27th to be in the finals. If you know people who have youtube or google accounts ask them to rate and comment our video.

Hi

I was recommended to join this site by quite a number of current members. I'm an author and I was told I'd get much better exposure by writing to people who are active in Library Thing. I've been adding to My Library a number of books that I've read (those that I recall) and a neat thing is that LT makes a lot of connections, which is why I wanted to say hello, given that you appear in my top 50 similar listings.

Anyway my own book Convergence documents the surprisingly cut-throat world of science and reflects the real-world experiences of tens of thousands of young researchers everywhere. There are four main storylines, each involving a woman seemingly unrelated to the other three. Convergence begins by slowly taking the reader into the world of science and discovery, an apparently benign culture full of supportive people. However, despite the moral purity of the four main protagonists, sinister undercurrents undermine each storyline as the novel progresses. Thus, although starting out purely as a science mystery, Convergence develops into a slow-burning political drama. At the core of the novel are ethical and moral issues that are frequently revisited throughout the book, echoing similar themes contained within The Demon Haunted World and Contact (by Carl Sagan).

Subject to availability, a limited number of free copies of Convergence have been set aside for review purposes. Send email to Christopher Turner at general@convergence-cpt.com if you wish to have a free copy for review. Please mention Library Thing in the body of your email.

Thanks
I love your dog! He is almost identical to mine (except my Cleo doesn't have the white around her mouth). We've been told she's part Beagle and part whatever, also a rescue dog.
Love your library too!
I could easily read 30 or 130 books in a year but I could not guarantee I could read 10 fiction, 10 non fiction, 10 biography. I would probably START 10 of each but wind up finishing only a hundred or so of fiction.
Probably not. Things have been so busy, I haven't managed to pleasure read in a month! This coming year, it looks as though things are going to get even more hectic. It was fun to see how many books I've read since last March, and also very telling. My schedule is just plain whacky!
And all best wishes for tonight and the coming year to your household as well! It's been a quiet day here - we're shoveling out from under another 7" or 8" of snow.
A very Happy New Year to you also! Wishing you much joy, peace and creative fulfillment this coming year!
Thank you!! and to you too!
Indeed. As I tell my boys - "For every door that closes, another one opens."
Yes, I've been there - I have similar sleep trouble at times. The most difficult thing is that I write very productively at night. I just can't get up in the morning, which is a real problem at my day job.

I'm also having directional issues...thought I had it all figured out a few months ago, but now am thinking otherwise. It's so hard to know whether it's sensible second thoughts, or if it's just me getting sidetracked by a new and different idea (which happens all too often). Oh, dear....
You're up late, aren't you?
Hi Jacquie,
I had a visit at Calliope's Coffee House and was completely taken in by your writing challenge. I read some of the pieces and was truly impressed. There's a book on my tbr list titled "Twice Told" that is based on a similar premise. It's a book of short stories, each based on a drawing with two authors/stories per drawing. I read all the entries for the photo of the cloudy moonlit sky and I was sorry when I reached the end of each entry - I wanted to keep reading!

"8 men & a duck" is still on my tbr list, to be honest. I gave it to my son for Christmas a few years ago but he was a bit too young, I think, and never read it. I started it at one point and enjoyed it as far as I remember, but I got sidetracked somewhere along the way and never finished it. If I manage to get it floated up to the top of the list I'll let you know what I think.
The art teacher at my school had her husband build her a studio outside the house mostly because the house had been his mother's and she's never been comfortable in it. I guess we all need our space.
One of the many things I like about LT is getting re-acquainted with my books as I add them to my LT Library.

BTW I lived in England for several years in the early 80's. I was in Mildenhall in Suffolk. Love the East Anglia area: Bury St Edmunds, Lavenham, Cambridge, Ely. Also love York & Yorkshire, and of course London.
Hey your back!

That's fantastic! Great to hear from you! Lots of snow where I am -- no sun in sight!

Hope you're doing well and everything is o.k. Yes, and love your photo!

Wishing you a very joyful holiday season!

Soon --
Wooohoo!! She's back!! Hope your all rested!!?? I've missed you comments and reviews...Nice to have your presence back in the circle :-)

Love you dog pic too!!!
