Grupos1001 Books to read before you die, All About Art, Brits, Comics, Cookbookers, Portugal, Thelema

Sobre mimWe're Vanda and Cisco, 25 and 24 respectively, and we're portuguese PhD students in Manchester (Religions and Theology). We've amassed a lot of books since we started living together 5 years ago, so, hopefully, this will help us organize things a bit! (We've also found books we didn't remember buying just by cataloguing half a bookshelf). We have a cat named Crowley.

Sobre a minha bibliotecaIt's hardly a library, we have five large bookshelves in the living room and bedroom, and we need to buy more. Looking forward to moving to a house with an extra room, though! We have a rather mixed selection, with emphasis on fantasy/science fiction (the good kind), weird fiction, graphic novels (mainly Vertigo), russian and japanese novels, art books, and now the 1001 books you must read before you die (we'll get there!).

We also have a fairly large collection of books about Magick, Hermetic Traditions, etc, which started through personal interest and grew when we started studying it in the academic field. Cisco is doing his thesis on the Mather's traslations of the Clavicula Salomonis, and I'm doing mine on Early Modern Demonology. These books have been known to scare the neighbours.

I have a red stuffed elephant named Aleister. lol
You have a fantastic collection. Brava.
Hi Vanda,

I'm only starting to read more about magick, demonology and witchcraft...if you could recommend a few books I would be grateful :)
Oh, and I scare the neighbours with my books and knowledge on cannibalism and human sacrifice. There have been distrustful looks ever since I gave a short speech on different kinds of cannibalism with a little too much enthusiasm...

É.
I'm also working on the 1001 books list. Have you had any trouble finding any of them? I've found some of them to be a bit difficult to track down.
Sorry I can't be of help about Évora at the moment. To escape the "August syndrome" whereby everyone heads for the beaches - Algarve or Brazil it's all the same now in terms of prices - or stays indoors suffering & baking I had the brilliant idea to visit the Azores.
It's my second time here and it's still beautiful beyond belief. I plan to stay as long as my money lasts. We have no daedlines to meet in August in Portugal it seems. Well, I don't ;)

Be careful about the heatwave in the Alentejo! It's still very much on.
