Sobre mimI'm a former history PhD candidate (late antique and Byzantine history) in my final year of law school in New York City. I have a particular interest in international human rights law. Fluent in German, Spanish, French.
I also have a strong interest in genealogy. My dog Bella (see picture) is a source of joy in my life.

Sobre a minha bibliotecaMy books take up too much space in a small apartment. They're already double stacked as much as possible and now are starting to live on chairs, under tables, in stacks behind furniture, and other unsuitable locations.
My partner says that the books need to stop appearing, but the books don't seem to pay him much attention and continue to arrive.
My library's strong points are atlases, history, religion, international relations, genocide studies, and genealogy related books. Historical atlases are a particular vice. In the history field, my library is strongest in ancient Greece & Rome, medieval and modern Europe, Latin America, and the US South. I also have a pretty excellent and growing collection of genealogy books related to the Pfalz (Palatinate) region of Germany and Colombia.
My library is pretty deficient in fiction.
Oh yeah, and all the books listed here are actually in my library, as opposed to being books that I'd like to own.

Noticed you liked Fight Club, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a disturbed bunch of kids and a bit dark :) I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Hi Alex,

I was hoping that you might be able to recommend a good atlas on Medieval Europe.

Did you finish law school? Are you unpacked in Germany? (I think unpacking is worse than packing, and neither are fun.)

Have a great summer!
