Sobre a minha bibliotecaI actually have a rather small library. I keep books in the living room and books in a work room, but I don't keep many. I am a big fan of libraries and I frequent used bookstores where I tend to buy books after selling old books. I read almost continually and when I am not reading I am listening to a book on tape.
Although I have begun to enter books, now as I read them, I am still entering those I have read since about 1998, when I began written card file of the books I read, with an emphasis on mysteries, and those I still own. As I enter books from the cards I am noticing that a number of books escaped my list.

Hi alice! Thanks for your post in my challenge thread. I'd love to hear your thoughts if you do decide to reread The Lord of the Rings. I'm listening to them on audiobook now, read by Rob Inglis, and it's been so fun experiencing them in that new medium. God bless my library! :)
Thanks so much for the recommendation. :) It is always nice to find a new author and knowing a good place to start helps. Have a great weekend.

Always nice to find others interested in medieval history. I found your profile through the Medieval Europe group. Any particular book you would recommend? What's your favorite non-fiction book on medieval history? I'm always looking for new books to add to my library. Thanks.

Thanks! I'll check out your suggestions today! One of my sisters is super religious, so a book with a religious value system that matches hers would be good, and both are ultra conservative--as far right as you can get--while I'm at the very OPPOSITE of that spectrum. (Makes for VERY rousing conversations at times!) It's snowed in the last couple of days (you've probably got snow too?) and I live on a very steep hill in a neighborhood of very steep hills, so will be slogging down on foot to a neighborhood mall to buy books for friends and family--my punishment for waiting until the last minute. I had been planning to get to Portland early so that I could shop at Powell's. My mom said that they're are having financial difficulties--OH NO! :( In spite of that, this year is going to be especially fun because I've got a great list of books that were recommended by LT members. Happy Holidays and happy reading too!
Take your time! Or you can even ignore me if you want. (smile) I have 2 sisters who really love mysteries and thriller type books while I sort of OD'd on them in high school and probably haven't read more than 10 true mysteries since then. I'm sure there are a ton of good ones out there, but am always disappointed by the ones they suggest--and I'm just drawn to other genres. I thought maybe the books you suggested would be good books that all of us could read and enjoy. Happy reading!
P.S. I pass by your city to visit my son at U. of O., and I lived in Oregon for my first 23 years, so on LT we're practically neighbors!
I saw your new posting in the 50-Book challenge group, thought it was a fun idea so wanted to come over and see your library. It's amazing, isn't it, that we only have 11-12 books in common?! It must be because you're the "mystery queen" (with 639!) while I have so few of them in my library. What five mysteries would you recommend to someone like me?
Bonnie
Boo!
