GruposPregnancy and Parenting

Sobre mimI am a pregnancy and parenting book author and mom of four who is also a book addict. I own thousands of books, as you'll discover as I gradually add my collection to the system. I'm finding this really fun -- and really addictive.

Sobre a minha bibliotecaI have a huge collection of pregnancy and parenting books; motherhood books; and a growing collection of vintage motherhood/advice books.

In addition to writing reviews, I've added a lot of comments to my book collection -- the story behind the book! Some of this is goofy stuff that may only be of interest to me, but, you never know. Under my "i wrote it" tag, you'll find out some random facts about some of the books I've written, for example. And if there's an interesting story about the way I acquired a book, I sometimes include that, too.

Because I have the opportunity to interview and otherwise hang out with a lot of authors through my work as a writer, I've linked to some interesting stuff via the comments section, too. I'm using the comments field for anything and everything that doesn't really "work" as a review.

Hi, I just joined this site. I noticed that you're interested in parenting books. Have you read The Ultimate Guide for Stay at Home Parents? Here's a link: http://www.ulitmateparents.blogspot.com
I'm reading your Mother of All Baby Books right now and loving it! Thanks!
I just bought your book for my wife (7 weeks along! - http://laundry-day.bluechronicles.net/?p...). She's reading it right now, and every five minutes she keeps exclaiming "THAT'S SO TRUE!" Thank you for writing such a reassuring but informative reference!
Hello, fellow Cahootsian!

Gord
Hey - I JUST moments ago noticed you left me a comment....right back at you!!
You are quite right about these so-called experts. I recently accquired a book whose title translates to "The Wife's Handbook" and it covers everything from sex to saltines. It's interesting to figure out her agenda, which seems to be based on immigrant women not making the same embarassing mistakes she made and trying to bring them up-to-speed (and up-to-date!) on contemporary socialist ideals and lifestyle in the United States. It was written in the early 1930's after the heaviest Jewish immigration was over. She died a few years after it was published.
Hello!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you! I have been incredibly busy for the last week, but I think I'm past the worst of it.

Yes, I do like the Trixi Beldon books, especially the earlier editions before they were updated for modern audiences. It's a lot of fun to read them in that context -- a sort of historical fiction type of book. I do the same with the Nancy Drew books, though it seems that the Trixi Beldon books hold up a little better.
Hi back. Interesting overlap! I am just getting started with the site, but it already promises to become an obsession.
Hi Ann! Hey, did you see how similar our libraries are? (Quelle surprise!) I knew it wouldn't be long before I saw you over here.

And how cool is what Tim just proposed?
