Please can you tell me what age range of child the book covers?

I recently joined the All Books Africa Group. As a publisher who has just released a novel about the Angolan Civil War, I thought it might be worth bringing to your attention. Ondjaki's Good morning Comrades has just been released (indeed, i'm not sure amazon has changed it status yet). Ondjaki is a Lusophone writer of international reputation, and our edition of Good morning Comrades introduces him to an English speaking audience for the first time. It will not be the last: Aflame Books in the UK is set to release his fable The Whistler, and I know New Directions is also looking at publishing something by him soon. We expect he will become one of the most celebrated African novelists of his generation.

Hello, Annette. One of the really good things about LibraryThing is meeting other people with the same passions. We share only three books,at least only three that we've recorded with LibraryThing, but they are somewhat offbeat ones -- Heaven, which I just finished tonight, and found enjoyable the way one enjoys poetry; What Eve Didn't Tell Us, which I enjoyed for its honesty and humor; and Calvinism in the Las Vegas Airport, which I enjoyed for its facing how difficult it is to convey some of the truths we believe in to others in this modern world. My husband and I were missionaries in Korea for 20 years, and have four grown children, one of whom is adopted. We did a lot of adoption work in Korea, had about 14 foster children there, some for a short while, some for a year or more. I have been working in our Presbytery Resource Center for 20 years and will retire shortly from that work. We have had a Pastors Reading Group that I have really enjoyed. Calvinism in the Las Vegas Airport was one of the books we read, and Heaven will be the next one...both good for discussion. My favorite, and maybe the group's as well, was Generous Orthodoxy by Brian McLaren. Have you read that one?

Thanks for the invite, just getting back to librarything recently. Have been too busy. Looks like you and your husband are always busy. We only have four children. They are all grown and through college (#4 finishing up Jr College:) I admire the two of you for your adopting and your mission work. Sounds like the Lord is really using your beautiful family. You certainly look happy and blessed in your photo. May the Lord continue to bless you and yours. I also mooch and will be inviting you to be a friend if thats OK. This is a great group you have started and you have some wonderful books. Keep up the good work!

Hello, thanks for the invite to Christian Living Books. I am the librarian at our church and so deal with many of these. I will enjoy reading the threads. I confess it is not often I read those types of books, though Francis Schaeffer is one of my favorite authors. I am working my way slowly through his writings. I like to read the Bible and a commentary or book written about the book of the Bible I am reading in. I read these things slowly to chew on the thoughts therein. Right now I am reading Les Miserables, which I am finding to be full of chewable thoughts on faith and Christianity, though I didn't expect it when I began. Again, I will be lurking on the thread until I pick up another Christian Living book to read, but will appreciate all the comments as help in my buying decisions.
