Sobre mimFor education among all kinds of men always has had, and always will have, an element of danger and revolution, of dissatisfaction and discontent. Nevertheless, men strive to know.

I am glad you liked it. If the subject of Roman military strategy interests you "The Grand Strategy of the Roman Empire" from Luttwak is also a great book but more on "technical" side rather than narative and it deals mainly with the late Roman empire.

Hoopy!
Hi,

Yes i saw the feynman videos - only got part way through number one so far though!

Favourite sci-fi novel.

Wow - only one?

If I stick with my ratings then I have a three way tie with the first two hitch hiker books and contact.

Three is the best I can do - sorry.

Thanks for the tip - I have added that book to my wishlist.

Cheers,

Psi
If you have any questions regarding any of them please feel free to ask.

Cheers

I just picked up the book "The Varieties of Scientific Experience" myself also cannot wait to read it =)
thx for the tips on the other stuff.
I loved that footage from the link you gave me with E.O. Wilson, iv been away got married =X so been busy, lol ill have to look into that book you recommended thanks.
I just finished E.O. Wilsons "The Creation - An appeal to save life on earth" very good book adding to the need to save the earth and its species regardless of religion or non-religion complacancy while the earth dies being bad obviously. I find E.O. Wilson to be more conservative in his atheism then some others, while I think the argument for being an atheist is definitely more logical.

I think Richard Dawkins makes a very good point when he speaks of Religion as a meme it would easily explain much of christianity with its mythos being from many other older religions throughout human history and how so many books in the bible contradict one another.

(Michu Kaku does speak on the fringe but the implications of what he writes on are very interesting his book "Visions" though dated is a very good book into things and how they may look into the future.)
Carl Sagan would have to be my very favorite author, and following would be Michael Shermer, Richard Dawkins and Michio Kaku.
(The book Comet on your wishlist is more like a history book of the comet as a thing with records of comets in our early history, its a very interesting book but not like any of his other books.)
What is your opionion of him as an author? "Paul Davies"
your @wishlist are those books you are hoping to find?
"Are we alone? - Paul Davies" this book any good? iv been thinking of buying a few of the various books by him but have never read anything by him.
