Sobre mimHappily married, book reading, cheese eating, mostly harmless old duffer.

Sobre a minha bibliotecaPretty wide ranging really. Lots of fiction (modern and 'classic') Some non-fiction on various subjects. Probably too many cookbooks. Comics (or graphic novels if you prefer) and an increasing number of ladybird books and books dedicated to that not boring in the slightest hobby of birdwatching.

Noticed you liked Clockwork Orange, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a group of violent kids (and also a bit dark). I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to read more about the book before you commit:

Yes, I am on here. Voley said if I didn't he'd assault me one day after lectures.

(That is absolutely not true)
Apologies, I am very lax with this. But hello. I will now have a good spy at your library and blame you for building up my amazon wishlist.
Hi Ben. Yes - the 'to read' feature is new. The real figure must be in the several hundreds but I'm not going to go through the whole lot marking them up. Life's too short!
Hi Ben,

I signed up with a couple of the book alert websites and I managed to delete the email they sent when the book was found and I can't remember now which one it was. Sorry, not much help! I have a feeling it was booksprice.com - I also signed up on bookbutler.com. If I find out I'll let you know.

Hi Ben,

Thanks very much for your reply. I really appreciate you coming back to me, and for the tips on finding the book, which are really useful (and for the offer of keeping an eye out for it, that's really kind of you). I shall continue to search!
Thanks again, Sarah.
I'm happy just with Da Lench Mob. Keep on runnin'…
I didn't know you read French! Bravo, monsieur. May I recommend Queneau?

Hi Ben

We do ice creams bigger than that in your picture here in New Zealand
Like your blog.

No, no, no - I save the Jeremy Clarksons for my boyfriend! I'm glad you approve of the books ... and I hope you enjoy them. Do let me know what you think, OK?

Cheers Ben - I'm still laughing. Beautifully weighted spelling and grammar errors. Definitely better than Dowling.

I've read the two Victorian pastiche one (The Crimson Petal and the White, and The Apple (?)). I'll try that one. I'm on Micheal O'Siochru's new history of the Cromwellian campaign in Ireland. We were right all along - he was a murdering bastard.

Odds for Stoke tomorrow?
Win some, lose some. I still think the narration's great.
I'm not joining Scrabble just to pick on Dan. It's not kind. You two OK? I'm loving the recession - savings in a mutual, public sector job and pension, total political and economic vindication. Smug just doesn't cover it.
