OMG, czukie, I was laughing hysterically at your review of The Yiddish Policemen's Union. It was hilarious!! At least I found someone else who dislikes that book as much as I do. I just finished it yesterday and could not think of enough bad things to say about it. I actually toned down my original review quite a bit because I think Chabon is a good writer, it's just that book I didn't like. I actually liked The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay very much.

This is a most wonderful quote from your review of The Yiddish Policemen's Union. A gem, in fact: "I'm 170 pages into it and the best I can say is that the other day, I dropped the book and lost my place. It took me forty five minutes to find my place again!"

I had been reading that book on the Metro train. It almost put me to sleep. My eyes kept closing and when I opened them each time, I, too, could not tell what I had read and what I hadn't read. I'm so happy I'm finished with it. I think it was a bad choice of mine to try to plow through the whole novel. Oh, well!

Thanks for letting me vent...

Best,

Madeline
