Sobre mimWhat can I say? A mid-western girl, blonde, blue eyes with imagination that soars. I love to read, I love books. Lately my book habits are to buy, not read. While I love reading time just hasn't been on my side for a while. Many people I know don't understand how I can spend so much money on books. I can't help myself. I was homeschooled (10-12) and now work part time as an administrative assistant and event coordinator. When I can fit it in I also enjoy quilting. I'm a Christian and love my Savior Jesus Christ. I'm the oldest of 4. Just like hangin around with my family, going to movies with friends and prowling used book stores.
Sobre a minha bibliotecaOld, new paperbacks, hardcover, sci-fi, historical, classics, fantasy, mystery, biographies and so much more. I like many kinds of books and love suggestions from people, I try my hardest to read what is recommended.
I'm also kind of picky about the publications of books I buy. Most of the time, I hold out for nice, pretty (aka cool art work) hardcover editions. I'm specifically in search of a nice, old, unabridged edition of The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas. Any Suggestions????
I attempt to keep my books organized, but as bookshelf space slowly dwindles and the number of books increases faster organization isn't easy. I have to depend upon my mind to remember where everything is shelved and that sometimes entails keeping myself from pulling my hair out over a lost book. Someday when I have a large house of my own, I will have a very LARGE library room and can result back to my anal organizational skills again.
Books are the treasured wealth of the world and the fit inheritance of generations and nations.
-Henry David Thoreau

The question is: If you could steal a skull, any skull, whose would you choose, and why?
Cranioklepty (the theft of skulls) has fallen out of fashion, but it wasn’t very long ago that stealing skulls was viewed by some as akin to possessing genius. Colin Dickey’s forthcoming CRANIOKLEPTY: GRAVE ROBBING AND THE SEARCH FOR GENIUS (Pub date: September 29, 2009) takes us on an extraordinary history of a peculiar kind of obsession. The desire to own the skulls of the famous, for study, for sale, for public (and private) display, seems to be instinctual and irresistible in some people. So we ask again, WHOSE SKULL WOULD YOU DIG?
Send us your choice—by leaving a comment on our profile page or via email (cranioklepty@gmail.com) between September 9 and October 21, 2009. We’ll be posting the most lively ones (no pun intended) and as a thank you, we’ll be sending a copy of CRANIOKLEPTY to the folks whose selections most intrigued us. Winners will be announced on October 31, 2009 (yes, on Halloween). For complete rules and regulations visit http://cranioklepty.com/pick-a-skull/rul.... We do not, for the record, endorse the actual stealing of skulls!

I don't have an opinion about whether you (or anyone else) does too much light reading. When you look at other people's reading lists, do you make judgments? It doesn't occur to me to. I'm just glad that other people enjoy reading and that there are different types of books for people's different moods.
Like you, I loved the Tricksters books. I listened to an excellent audio production. I do most of my fiction "reading" through my car stereo system.

I see from your profile that you are a Christian and that you like historical fiction. In that case, you might like Quo Vadis, although it's not as light of reading as some of your other favorites.
