I have a cousin in Osceola (sp? lol) and my youngest daughter's dad used to live in SB and work at Valmont in Elkhart before they closed down. Small world, eh?

Great to hear from another Bates fan. You're right, he didn't become as big a star in America as in the U.K. Probably because he didn't get involved in many Hollywood productions (can't think of any at the moment). He did get the credit he deserves in the U.K. I haven't seen "Oliver's Travels". Is that a mystery series? I enjoyed him in "The Caretaker" with Robert Shaw and Donald Pleasance. That's a great movie that's impossible to find in the states.

Hi Cindy- Glad you are locking in to "The Beach"! It's been several years since I read it but I remember it being pretty intense, an updated version of Lord of the Flies. We have been chatting for a long time, I think we should be friends. How about it? Have a good weekend!

In order to mark it as not received on the Books You've Won page you will also need to delete your "review" and remove the book from your library. I never received my copy either.
