Always nice to find others interested in medieval history. I found your profile through the Medieval Europe group. Any particular book you would recommend? What's your favorite non-fiction book on medieval history? I'm always looking for new books to add to my library. Thanks.

Thanks ever so much for your reply. In answer to your question it was definately a GOLD DOVE-or pigeon- which is the same thing.
As I said my skills and memory are fading and it sure is tough getting"OLD"
This is the information I have cvome across these many years{I had to copy it down all the time}:
All the authors I researched came close to what I wanted or last read in 1959. The problem was always, I could not get anything on the ending in a cemetary or the golds dove logo. The authors that I did reasearc are;
1. Dorothy Miles Disney{as you have stated}. All Her novels until approximately 1960 did in fact take place here in the northeast New Englan area.
2. Dorothy Cameron Disney {no relation} She wrote only nine novels and again I could not get anything on the endings or hardcover editions.
3. Kathleen Moore Knight same time period etc same problem as above.
4. Mabel Seely-same as above but Her novels all took place in and near Her hometown of Minnesota.
5. Pheobe Atwood Taylor. Her novels took place in and around the CAPE COD to Boston Mass. area Her novels were more comical in nature. One interesting fact is that She was published by the W.W.Norton company who in 1923 adopted a SEAGULL for it's logo. This was always put on the spine oh thier books. I mention this because of the similarity of the image to a dove.
6.Wilson Tucker. He wrote a mystery novel in 1950 called "THE DOVE". The problem was that although it ended behind an old gravemarker behind an old mansion, it had to do with some characters from Hollywood CA. Also the paper jacket showed a huge bird with a man in it's beak. I further found out that there was no gold dove image inside on the actual hardcover front. I was also told that the image may have been put on a later or earlier edition or possibly it was a crime club edition.
Lastly I did come across several sources that told me this. During the time period from appoxinately 1930 to 1960 many book dealers and book stores would put thier own personal logo's etc on all the books they sold.
I do hope that you will keep me in mind from time to time on this search AND rest assured I will NEVER become a nusiance or pest and contact you this way. I will only respond to your replys. I would like to con tact you in a year if I hear nothing if that is fine with you.
The bottm line is --ANY book especially a mystery that is gray,hardcovere with that gold dove image.

You might not remember but over a year ago on the Name That Book group, you helped me find Emlyn's Moon. I just wanted to let you know I finished reading it yesterday morning. It is exactly the book I was looking for. It held up over the years, too. I still like it. Thank you.

I work retail, and can't "stop in" as much I'd like this time of year. But ghost stories are my favorite genre, and enjoy reading people's posts' there.

You named my book correctly, BUT NAMES WILL NEVER HURT ME. I have since purchased the book through the link you offered. I cannot figure out how to reply on the post so I found another way to say thanks.
