I did go to the broadview school thing this year and last. If I hear of them, I'm usually there with bells on! There is an on-going sale in Manotick till mid-august. It's pretty good. I've been to quite a few sales already this year. Breezehill has one on the 6th then it's the Friends of the Farm and one at Covent Glen school in Orleans on the 27th. It slows down over the summer so I will hit the Manotick one again on a nice day. Make sure you get to our RPPS sale in November! I keep a list and am always adding to it.
I will keep you posted on Rick Mofina and Mary Jane. I have Alex Bretts books. I have not read them yet however. Another local is Karen Irving. I have 2 of hers. I met her at a book launch for Mary Jane. Lots of great local mystery writers here in Ottawa.
There is some kind of book binding etc thing going on this weekend at library and archives? I always check the Community notices on the CBC website.
bye for now,

I'm not a librarian, but wish I was a lot of the time. (I work for the govt in a dept I would love to get out of) - I have volunteered in a library for over 5 yrs though and run the bookgroup at the Rockcliffe Park branch of the OPL.
I had Mary Jane at my group a couple years ago and she's a delight. I agree that she should be on here and also Rick Mofina who also came to my group. I would love to see more local authors on LT. I will send her an email and also one to Rick Mofina. Have you read any of his? They are absolute thrillers!
Have you ever met any other LTers here in Ottawa? I wore my LT t-shirt at our book sale in April and hoped someone would come out of the woodwork but alas, it did not happen.
I like LT a lot and check in daily, it's a lot of fun!
Keep in touch!
