Sobre mimMy education is civil engineering, but I now work for a software company that creates civil engineering software, among others. I have lots of hobbies and interests -- cross stitch, running, genealogy, computers, and reading, of course!

Sobre a minha bibliotecaMy favorite is historical fiction, particularly in Scotland, Ireland, Wales or England. I also like epic fantasy and sometimes science fiction. I read lots of non-fiction as well. My library also contains my husband's hunting, fishing and car books and books from when my children were younger.

SUN OF REAL PEACE
by Walt Whitman

O Sun of real peace! O hastening light!
O free and extatic! O what I here, preparing, warble for!
O the sun of the world will ascend, dazzling, and take his height—
and you too, O my Ideal, will surely ascend!
O so amazing and broad— up there resplendent, darting and burning!
O vision prophetic, stagger'd with weight of light! with pouring glories!
O lips of my soul, already becoming powerless!
O ample and grand Presidentiads! Now the war, the war is over!
New history! new heroes! I project you!
Visions of poets! only you really last! sweep on! sweep on!
O heights too swift and dizzy yet!
O purged and luminous! you threaten me more than I can stand!
(I must not venture— the ground under my feet menaces me—
it will not support me: O future too immense,)—
O present, I return, while yet I may, to you.

Hi Debbi,

Thanks for your message - I have just mooched the two books. If you sent an email about them before I think it must have got lost in the ether! Thanks again for the angel mooches, I really appreciate it.

Thank you so much for angeling the book for me, I really, really appreciate it! Tiare. x
Hi Debbi,

Thanks so much for the angel mooch!

The way it normally works is:

1) Add the book to one of the existing 'angel book' listings to avoid triggering wishlist emails, e.g.:

http://www.bookmooch.com/m/detail/BM1210...

(search for 'BM Angel Network' for more choices :)).

Click the 'Give your copy' book, then 'Add book to your inventory'

It seems to be standard at this point to fill in details of title & author plus person-in-need (i.e. me!) in the Condition field (the Condition link should be over on the right) for any avoidance of doubt.

2) If you want to, you can then reserve it for me by clicking the 'Reserve' link over on the right after the condition notes have saved. Put my member ID in the box at the bottom.

3) When the reservation has saved, there's a 'send email recommendation' button that appears at the bottom of the success page, which you can use to mail a link to the book to me.

That's the cast-iron approach - or if you want to, you can just skip steps 2 & 3 and pop a link to the book on my profile :-)

Thank you SO much for this!

Best,

Rachael/FlossieT
Hi Debi,

we are sweltering at nearly 40 degrees Celcius in Canberra. How is it in Alabama?

Over the January break I went nuts buying ancient and medieval military history books. I am struggling through a book on Ancient Chinese techniques at the moment but am itching to get to my Historical Crime Fiction - in the last few days I have had the latest three from Paul Doherty, one from David Wishart and one from Michael Jecks. I'll have a hard time working out which one to read first.

Cheers
Cheers Debi,

Hope you had a top Xmas and New Year
