Sobre mimComplete rewrite needed as accidentally deleted everything! Ho Hum! Have been reading forever - it is my sanctuary. Read everything from the back of the Cornflakes box to Dostoyevsky. Love LT but do not get as much time as I would like to browse it's endlessly fascinating contents. I also have a passion for bookbinding, cooking, theoretical gardening (no time for the practical unfortunately) and football (that's the soccer type to those west of our timeline) I'm a Millwall season ticket holder - have been since I was 13 and, for those of you who know about these things, we're not all mad, bad and dangerous to know!
I have a wonderful and thoroughly understanding partner (who doesn't mind the continual additions to the library), two wonderful children and soon to have a first grandchild.
In my spare time I also do 40+ hours a week as a Senior Underwriter.
If you were wondering about the Doris Day sign in, my Mum looks like DD and used to sing Que Sera to me when I was little - so very fond memories.

Sobre a minha bibliotecaEclectic mix - whatever takes my fancy at the time but have only recently come to the conclusion that life is far too short to complete a book that I am really not enjoying. Would, like every other LTer I'm sure, love a real library, with real library accoutrements - soft specific lighting, crackling log fire (can't be doing with the leather chair though, would have to be an M & S love seat), would like to do the dog bit too but have two old(ish) cats who wouldn't appreciate it, also must have a ladder, a spiral staircase and a gallery (don't want much do I!)

Oh I see you have Affair of the Mutilated Mink and From Aberystwyth With Love. I have both of those on my 'to read' pile. Enjoy!
Hello Lynne, I just dropped by as I added 'Memoirs of a Geisha' to my Library and notice you have it too. I was wondering are Doris Day Rules the same as Queensbury Rules?! Yeh ok a terrible joke LOL.
Noticed you liked Lovely Bones, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here, as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it also contains a young female narrator struggling with a series of tragic circumstances. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to read more about the book before you commit:

Thanks,

More bad news - I've just updated the entry you made for Mahers to show that it's now defunct.
Glad you like my collection. It is eclectic but we share quite a few in common which is always nice to see.
Hi

I see that Murder One is a favourite bookshop of yours as it is of mine. Have you see the sad news that it is to close this month as one more victim of the recession? It will be one fewer bookshop to visit on the Charing Cross Road on my way home from work. What a loss.
Hello from the Maritimes....I loved Three Bags Full too...it was such a different take on the mystery genre. I didn't know there was a sequel...hopefully it will be out in English soon! I see you are an Anne fan....I have all the books and have read them several times. I love to pop over the island and visit all the "Anne" sites. With the 100th anniversary this year, there were many special editions and other books out. Did you know one has been written about Anne's life before she goes to Green Gables? I haven't read it yet but my friend loved it. You have a great selection of books...many of which we have in common. I loved March by Geraldine Brooks.....
Hi

Thanks for leaving me a comment! I'm having terrible trouble with my internet connection at home and so am doing this at work. It's probably a sackable offence or something so if you never hear from me again then you'll know why!

Michaela
I love the idea of you panicking without a book, I am the same and have been found reading the back of bleach bottles when have nothing else
Hi,
Just saw you added a few books on the radar, and thought I'd check out your library. I was particularly interested in your 'fab' books, which reminded me that I must get some Georgette Heyer to re-read now I'm older! I was pleased to see you also thought 'Never the bride' by Paul Magrs was fab too - I adored this book and am looking forward to reading the sequel soon. I love crime too, but prefer the hard-boiled american police procedurals to cozy British in general.
Cheers for now
Annabel
Hello,
Thanks for adding me. I love Doris Day!
Yes,I've been very busy adding books the last few days. Just a few stragglers to go on the bookshelf now.
Happy reading,
Stilestrider
Hi,

Thanks for your post. As you know so well, there's nothing like a good English mystery and your library looks like a great resource for "pickings."

I just discovered and read my first "Rumpole," by John Mortimer. "Rumpole Misbehaves." What a treat and what delightful reading! I'm looking forward to more Old Bailey doings.
Hi! Thanks for your message. This site certainly is addictive - I was not happy at the site being down today! I'm inspired by your gardening selection and certainly empathise with your feeling of panic when caught without a book. How do you keep track of books that are double banked? If I did that I could get my books out of the loft. I’m tempted but I don’t know where to start!
Rachel
Hi, thanks. I will take a look at your library for some ideas as well. You might also look at the Anglophiles group, which has a detective fiction thread,
Regards,

Hello,
Thanks for contacting me and of course I am delighted that you have added me to your "Interesting Libraries' list. Also for your kind message. The collection has taken many years to put together but I have enjoyed every minute, although the greatest problem has been the housing of them. (as you will see from my comments on the Profile page)
Regarding the Music collection, again as you will read on that same page,I pondered long and hard as to if I should include them or not. Finally I did and most CD's are either Spoken word or Classical music. The rest are a mixture of Shows and just a few jazz/pop ect.
I see that we share 577 books at the moment and that we also share an interest in several of the same authors and genres as well,so I think I better add your Library to my list of 'Interesting Libraries 'too if I may.
Best wishes from Northamptonshire, and I hope to hear from you again soon with some more book and/or musical talk.
Indeed you should dorisdarules, you may find your listening becomes addictive!
Hi, among your autobiographies there is one tagged autobigraphy, which I guess is a typo you would prefer to fix.
