Sobre mimI am a lifelong passionate reader. My parents allege that my first words were, "Read Mom, read." They also claim that I drove them crazy with near constant demands to read aloud until I learned to read for myself. I don't know anyone else personally who reads as much or owns as many books as I do. I was thrilled to find the internet community of readers and learn that there are others like me! Everyone in my "real" life believes that I suffer from some kind of mild insanity that causes me to read compulsively. I ignore them.

I worked in the social services field until recently. I am currently contemplating a return to school for a Library Science degree. In the meantime, I read, re-read and spend way too many hours playing on this site.

Sobre a minha bibliotecaI have managed to keep most of my childhood and young adult books and these are included in my collection. I have only entered books into Library Thing that I actually own.

I have learned through my recent love affair with Library Thing that my TBR pile is downright ridiculous. I have made a vow to read more of my own books. Let's all see what happens, shall we?

Hi Leslie,
Just coming by to say hi. Don't you just love the collections features? I like having my wish list separate from my regular library. I'm still adding children's books to my collection , but I have my two libraries combined into one now, so there is no bonniebooks2 anymore. Take care and happy reading! Bonnie
Leslie, My apologies! As you can see, I don't check this library very often. I think we're already "friends" on my main profile(bonniebooks), aren't we? I know I've read/enjoyed and commented on your profile before. Can't wait until I can merge libraries with the "collections" feature when it comes out--or at least I hope I will be able to. "Let's get together, Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!" **she sings happily in anticipation!** B.
Wow, we do have a lot in common! And not just stuff that everybody has either. How do you like the 1000 Artist journal pages book? Do you do art journaling yourself?
Sorry it took me so long to reply, I've had a busy few weeks. Yes, that is my dane "Deacon." He is a big baby and horribly spoiled. I'm pretty sure he has more Christmas presents than anyone else under the tree. I hope you post a pic of Macy soon!
Ooh - that [1,000 Artist Journal Pages] looks like something I may NEED. (wonders if touchstones work in comments...

There are so many others that I have still sitting in boxes in my storage garage that I will add as we put up book shelves (after painting, etc.) and I unpack them (oh but the moving in to the new house is going so slowly...) and we will have more in common at that point I see. I may or may not put them all out either. I add as I see things that others have on their lists that I know are sitting in storage but I haven't bothered to NEED yet and gone looking in search of. :D

But even with this, I'm sure my collection pales in comparison. All the same, it's fun perusing your library. I'm lucky (maybe?) because my husband is as big a biblioholic as I am. Our stored boxes rival each other.

I had fun comparing our libraries today. We definitely have the same taste in books! I love Ann Patchett and Thomas Moore's books too. I've read a lot of additional titles that you own, but haven't entered them because I don't own them. (All the Dennis Lehane and Jennifer Louden's, for example!) If I did that, we would have more than 55 matches. You also have a few that I have my eye on.
Yes, I have a huge collection. My boyfriend reminds me by walking around muttering, "Too many books, too many books..." I feel like I give away/sell quite a few, but I always bring home more.
Please, feel free to leave a comment any time. I love to hear from other Library Thingers!
WE have a HUGE list of shared books. :) So I've got my eye on your library.

You do have a very big collection, though. It was bound to happen, I guess.
Hello there,

Thank you for adding me to your list of interesting libraries. I notice that you have been a member only one day more than I have but you've entered almost 700 more books. I'm adding so slowly. I got married in November and we both have houses. As I bring books over to "our" house (his) I'm entering them in LibraryThing. But I'm entering far slower these days because I can't find much more room for my books here. I have sooooooooo...... many more! Though, actually, this process is helping me to re-evaluate which books are most important to me and that (just maybe) I can get rid of some. By the way, keep ignoring the people you know who think you suffer a mild form of insanity. ;) Silly, silly people.
I see that Margaret Atwood is one of your favorite authors. I just read my first Margaret Atwood book (Oryx and Crake) and loved it. My husband read it, too, and also loved it. I'm craving more Atwood. I own Alias Grace and Blind Assassin and also the film version of Handmaid's Tale. Which of Margaret Atwood's books is your favorite? In other words, which should I read next? :)
Pam
Thank you very much for your kind comments. I have had lots of fun rebuilding my library, although like you I had many books that my parents had given me and they believed in inscribing each one! I miss those a lot.

Sorry this is so late in coming. Just have had an insanely busy summer. Thank you for taking note of my library. I always enjoy getting posts from fellow LibraryThing people. Please let me add you to my friends list......I am hoping to have more time to communicate after August.

Jeannie
Thank you for stopping by and leaving your comment. Feel free to drop by my library anytime. I think you should pursue your desire to become a librarian. With your love of reading, it sounds like a dream job. Best of luck to you.
Thanks! I admire your taste in modern fiction... I may go browsing in your library next time I'm looking for a good new title. I'm still working on cataloging my books, but I'm getting close. Two shelves of art books, one of oversized children's books, one of science and math, one of yearbooks and journals, and one of travel yet to go.
Thanks for adding me to your interesting libraries list. What a great library you have! Gwen
Welcome to LibraryThing! It's nice to see someone else with a gigantic library like me. =) Looks like we have quite a few in common - it will be fun to look through your shelves.
Smart idea. I didn't realize that you just joined. Congrats in getting your books on there so fast. I joined in early 07 and I still have cases not added.
Hi-thanks for adding my library. I would also like to peruse yours since we seem to share many books. This site is a wonderful resource for finding books and authors, and it's always wonderful to be among so many who share a passion for books. Take care, Pat
Thanks for adding me to your interesting libraries. I also added you.

Can you tell me a little bit about your library? Is there a way to tell which books you have read vs which are tbr?
thanks for adding me. i added you as well since we share over 300 books!
