Hi, Linda. You asked me to let you know how I liked Rebecca - loved it! Finished it over the weekend. Amazing to me how she sustained the high level of suspense throughout. Not sure whether you've finished it, so won't give anything away, but I will say I had to go back and re-read the mysterious beginning of the book with the knowledge gained at the end.

Now I want to see the movie - I caught a glimpse of it once, and think it's Laurence Oliver as Maxim.

Let me know what you think of it when you get a chance.

I loved Pippi! I still remember those books very well, I must have been around 8 or 9 years old when I read them! At the time I had no idea they were not American! I remember wondering how did she manage to get away with doing everything she did and no parents or grown ups around to yell at her! Nobody seemed to stop her - and I was so relieved and happy to know that her father really did exist! I thought that she was making him up in the first book, if I recall. Hmm, it's been waaaay too long since I've read the books - about 40 years!

You obviously enjoy what you saw in my library. I only wish I had started it years and years ago. I have read so many books and forget what they were. I have a feeling you would have liked the others also. If this one impressed you, imagine if I did remember more of the books that I have read.

I use to always read Stephen Kings. If he had a new book out in paperback, I would need to get it. I would pass a bookstore everyday and couldn't help but look inside. Many times, the owner of the book store would suggest other books for me, during the wait of the book I was so looking forward to.

When I worked for Mazda, an employee/friend got me reading Grishams. I highly believe that "The Firm" was the first one I was introduced to. Half way throught that first book you could say I was addicted to Grisham.

I have read "It' twice and didn't like it as much as I liked the others, like "Misery" or "Carrie" I remember reading "Needful Things" but don't ask me what it was about.

I suggest you get "24 Hours" by "Greg Ilse" first. Only because it was my first. I found it fast paced and something I couldn't put down. Again, don't ask me what the story was about. lol

A friend, from way back, introduced us to Koontz. Her husband would read a book a night and get books everyday from "Ganu" We both came across a few books by "Koontz" and loved them. My youngest son, who isn't a reader, has a collection of his books.

I remember reading Patterson's but only title I can remember is "Jack and Jill". I do recall I read a lot of his years ago.

I almost forgot about Jackie Collins. Yes, there was a time when Danielle Steel and Jackie Collins are the only ones I read. Boy, that was a long time ago.

I was in my late teens when I read "Helter Skelter" I heard people talk about it, but didn't know anything about it, so when I heard there was a book out, I had to go out and get it, right? It was a long book and parts of it were somewhat confusing to me at the time. I remember that I did enjoy it.

I have read many true crime novels. Would be nice if I remembered a few. lol I really enjoy them. I read a lot of Max Haines> You have heard of him right?

Funny thing about "Men Are From Mars" I always knew they were not from my world. After 16 years of not seeing my oldest son's father he appeared in my life and was reading that book. He suggested I read it. I never did ask him why he thought I should read it, but I did.

Oh my goodness. Flowers In The Attic" was an amazing book. I read so many of V.C. Andrews after that series but I still say that series was the very best.

"The Book of Lost Things" was different. Hard to explain. My bestest friend got me reading Erica Spindler and there hasn't been a book I haven't loved, I mean really enjoy.

Spent $66.00 in a book store? My husband would kill me. lol I usually go to the goodwill stores, garage sales and to a small quant bookstore that just opened up the street from me. I enjoy going to old used bookstores. It is hard to get me out of there once I am in.

I would really like for you to tell me what you think of "Gone But Not Forgotten" after you read it. It means something to me because of it being the first novel that I was able to read. After reading that one, I still had trouble reading other for a while.

No rush...just hurry up, will ya!! LOL

This weather has been wonderful to me...I'm a freeze baby, so I don't complain in the summer! :)

And when I find that job that pays me to read the books I love, I'll be sure to drop your name!!

What do you mean you have Gone But Not Forgotten but you haven't read it yet?

Shame, shame.

My husband read it and didn't think much of it. I believe that it kept me in suspence that I couldn't put it down.

Hey Linda...thanks for getting back to me so soon.

Just wondering if you have checked my library yet? I have checked so many I don't know if I have checked out your libraby. I have a feeling I did.

So you do know where I am coming from? It is so hard to explain just what I was feeling at that point in my life. I always enjoyed reading but now I absorb every word. I feel a bond with the book. I was given the gift of reading back and I am going to enjoy all aspects of it.

All the girls in my class were talking about Nancy Drew books. I wondered where they got them. On Saturday afternoons after grocery shopping, my parents would meet their friends at a local restaurant. Usually I would walk the mall and dream of things that I would like to have. I use to always pass the book stores or book shelves. I didn't understand why anyone would buy a book when they didn't have to read. One day I was standing in front of rows upon rows of Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys and Trixie Beldon books. I went back to where my parents were and asked if I could get a book. My mother when with me and said I could get it if I promised to read all of it. Although I didn't think I had the ability to finish a book I did promise her.

One can't start her reading career without reading number one in the series, now can she!

If you asked me where I would like to go anywhere in the world it would be to a used book store. Pack a lunch and stay for as long as I can. Forget about Floria and France...I want to go to a book store.

I usually go to the goodwill to get books if I buy them at all. Once I had my own place I always had shevles upon shelves of books. I could never say no to a good book.

My first collection is gone. I have another collection now that I am slowly reading. My oldest and dearest friend buys books all the time at "Half Price Books" and shares them with me. My husband (commonlaw) has many older books that he advises me to read.

I am reading much more of a variety than I did before I got sick. I often am very grateful that I did get sick. I would even say I feel lucky to have gotten sick.

This site is sure addicting. I have been trying so hard to only come on here twice a day. So far it is working out alright.

My trouble is I want to add everyone to my friends list lol.

Hi Linda

I have yet to look at your library, but I so enjoy what you wrote about yourself. I see that we only share 3 books. There might be more that we share after I take a look at your library. I am fairly new to LT and loving it. The first few days I spent endless hours on here. No,w I usually come for a few minutes in the morning and a few minutes at night. It seems to be working for me.

Hi, Linda ~ LT is a great place, but it is addictive, so beware! Until I put a limit to the time I spend here (and I had to be quite firm with myself about that too), my reading time suffered, and I was in danger of falling behind on my 100 book challenge! Scary stuff! :)

Thanks for making the connection, I welcome you!!! I thought my oldest daughter was the only person on earth who shared my taste in books, and then thought I had arm twisted her into it, so it didn't really count.....and out of the blue, here you come, and I had no influence over your likes in any way....that is too great!!
Also......I am in Mount Gilead, Ohio...a small community about 50 miles north of Columbus...we're practically neighbors.
