Sobre mimHello everybody :)
I love books, technology, music, films, fandom and writing. My stamping ground is a cross between a library, art gallery and a big mess. I love making new friends anywhere online and in RL so feel free to add me.
I read 192 books in 2008.
I challenged myself to read 200 books in 2009 and have reached my target as of September, so I've set myself a few more targets: read 20 non-fiction books, re-read the full Chalet School series and we'll see what else I manage. My regularly updated list of progress is at http://www.the-cbb.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f.... So far it's 330 books which I'm really proud of.
Sobre a minha bibliotecaEverything - there is an emphasis on easy-to-read fiction due to long-term illness. I need escapism more often than not. It's what books are for - I love how there are books and music and films for every mood and every occasion, there will always be something for everyone. I think that's awesome :) I'm a big fan of children's fiction, especially that centred around boarding schools, horses and ballet. There's lots of easy-to-read adult fiction - romance, historical, very chick-lity stuff. I'm not a fan of the one-sided Mills & Boon type of romance novels though.
Recently (2009) I've been finding a hidden love of fantasy fiction, and been reading more and more of it.
I'm desperately trying to clear out a load of dvds. As payment I'll take BookMooch points, swaps for books/ dvds/ cds/ other stuff, cash, paypal money, and vouchers for suitable UK-based stores/ online stores. Please do comment if you're interested in any of these.

I found your profile from a link to your wishlist.
I am also an avid reader and happen to have lupus. I like your idea of challenging yourself to read a certain number of books per year.
I have set up my own challenge of reading books from certain henres. Right now I am working my way through a recommended reading list of American literature. (But, due to illness... I too need lots of escapist "brain candy"!)
Anyway.
Wishing you the best of health.
Happy Reading,
:)

I'm currently in the process of moving so can't get to any of my books easily at the moment, as the majority of my "to trade" pile is currently boxed up.
I'm not sure how long it will be until they will be unpacked at the other end, but will be in touch once I'm settled in and able to find things. ;o)

I also read good literature and love English mysteries. Drop by and visit my library some time. You have an impressive one yourself!

Thanks for friending me, sorry it has taken me a while to get in touch. You have a great library, I haven't even had time to look at it all yet! As I guess you've seen, I too love children's books, especially the classic ones.
I keep trying to keep track of the books I read each year, but always start forgetting to write them down when I finish. At least librarything helps me keep up with those I buy!
Anyway, keep in touch,
Claire

Thanks for your comment. I'm sorry, I didn't notice it until now with the flood of Early Reviewers posts and what-not.
I see you read 192 books in 2008, wow! I only got 143. I am trying for 150 this year...what's your goal? I wish I had more time to read!
Talk to you soon,
Lily

I'm intrigued by the apparent lack of pattern in the books we share - it suggests we might have more in common than appears at first glance.

I really am a readaholic! About 1/2way through 2008, I began to write at least a short review of every book I read. This coming year, I intend to keep going. I'm having so much fun with it. If you're on goodreads, I'm jjmachshev there too. I enjoy the social aspect of GR and the site ease of LT!

I'm not a CBB member myself, though my mum (coastwalker), who shares custody of our vintage books, is. I'm very envious of the range of your collection, particularly the ballet books.
