Sobre mimFlying Leatherneck Historical Foundation

The Origins of The Foundation
In 1989 a team of dedicated Marine volunteers established the museum and the foundation at MCAS El Toro, CA. When El Toro was closed in 1999 by BRAC, a group of former Marines from San Diego, led by Major Generals Bob Butcher and Frank Lang formed the “Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation” and assumed the 501(c)(3) charter from the El Toro Foundation.

The Foundation Mission
The Foundation mission is to actively support the operation of the Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar Command Museum (Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum) located aboard MCAS Miramar. We accomplish the mission by providing a volunteer base to support day-to-day operations and by providing financial support to augment austere DoD budgets.

The Museum We Support
The Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum (FLAM) has undergone a rigorous certification process and is one of only four certified Marine Corps Command Museums. The FLAM is the only museum in the world dedicated to the primary purpose of preserving the history of U.S. Marine Corps aviation and boasts a collection of over forty vintage aircraft, a library with extensive research materials, photos, video, valuable memorabilia and artifacts.

Hello,
I am trying to locate the complete specs of the International Masters Publishers' (IMP)book, Aircraft of the World: The Complete Guide (1996). I am a volunteer with my local "Friends of the Library"; we have an annual used book sale to raise funds for the library to supplement their tax revenues.

One of the categories I price includes "transportation" - ships, planes, trains and automobiles. We have the three-ring binder with the 16 section tabs, and while the binder is nearly full, there seems to be many sequential numbers within the groups/tabs missing. I have been unable to find a complete listing of all the numbers within the tabs.

Can you assit me in this regard or direct me to another source of information?

Thanks. Del Grapes (dgrapes on LT)
Hi-

Just a quick note that I uploaded the cover to this book if you want to grab it:

Flight Thru Instruments
My URL with cover image: http://www.librarything.com/work/book/38...

Note I have asked for our books to be combined, as they are either the same edition or variations of the same edition.

Cheers-

Proprietors, directors and employees of a venue can "claim" its page on LibraryThing, taking control of its basic information, description and photo.

To claim a venue you must have a LibraryThing account and convince us you're legit. An email from an official-sounding address is more than sufficient. Send emails to abigail@librarything.com.
Been to your museum 5+ times. It contiues to grow nicely. You have one of the best looking Corsairs in any museum. Will be in SD in May and will drop by again.
