Ich bin Neuseelaenderin aber in January komme ich mit meiner Familie nach Basel fur zwei Jahren. (Ich spreche ein bisschen Deutsch aber es ist wirklich schrecklich!).
Ich verbringe viele Zeit hier auf LT und habe Ihre Bibliothek gefunden, als ich nach "Basel" gesucht habe.

I should really switch to English before I butcher any more German. I'm going to go and lurk in the Swiss Librarythingers group now! I really enjoyed looking at your library.

Grüezi, Paul. I was in Basel in July for the first time, and did research at the Staatsarchiv. I hope to return before long, but don't know when that will be. Basel is a wonderful city, and I hope to visit many more times. Maybe I'll even learn to get by in Baseldytsch.

Hallo

Mal schauen, was an Jubiläen alles ansteht. Jedenfalls danke für die Anregungen. Das Scannen von Umschlägen ist vorerst nicht geplant und aus (ach) urheberrechtlichen Gründen für uns auch nicht einfach zu machen - geschweige denn internen Abläufen. Wir scannen ja schon die Inhaltsverzeichnisse aller neuen Bücher. Die findest du aber nicht hier, sondern im NEBIS-Katalog. Falls wir einmal ältere und spezielle Bücher hier einfügen, können wir das eventuell machen.

My cousin has examined the index list you sent me from your Froelich book. the name H. Geistlich is of interest to us. If it is not too much trouble could you scan the pages he is spoken of and e-mail them to me? Maybe you could give me a comment or two on their contents as I am not fluent in German. My e-mail is gr1969@aol.com Also, my cousin has acquied an English manuscript copy of Brother Geistlich's journal when he visited the United States. Would you be interested in a PDF file of it?

If you ever want to get rid of your copy of Zirkularmitteilungen an Aktionäre und Investoren, darunter auch Emissionsprospekte (1887-1896), I would indeed be most interested, assuming that your price is within my budget. I absolutely love that sort of thing, as you can see here.

I live approximately 5 miles from the official end of the Oregon Trail. At least once a year, I go up to Mount Hood and follow the final 50 miles of the Barlow Road. It makes me appreciate our modern conveniences.

If you are interested in the American West, you may want to check Pitster’s catalog. She has quite a collection - every time I go there, I find more titles to add to my wishlist.

Paul, I do family history. My ancestors were Mennonite and Anabaptist and later joined the Apostolic Christian Church. They lived around Oedheim, Wurttemburg and Dorfleshof around the Wurzburg area. Are you close to either of those areas?

Not sure what I can say about adding stuff to the CK for Oliver Twist, since the link you gave me was to the .de version site (I use the .com version). I did go on a combining binge last week, after finding that a few of my books had been separated from other books when I edited them -- books like Measure for Measure which are most certainly NOT singletons.

I don't know enough about the nuances of combining to troubleshoot what happened to your book, but you might ask in the "Combiners!" group. More than likely, someone there will be able to help you.

Sehn grad, dass du d'Trilogie vom Pullman zu dinere Bibliothek hinzuegfüegt hesch. Vomene christliche Standpunkt us z.T. nit eifach zum Läse, abr i ha's halt eifach als Fantasy-Wält agluegt, wo nüt mit unserer Realität ztue het. Mir hän alli drei Biecher sehr guet gfalle, i liise gärn Fantasy!
