Sobre mimWhat can I say? Well, obviously I love books, I love to read. I'm a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a medical transcriptionist three days a week, a terrible housekeeper. I love to laugh. There is very little in life that I take very seriously. Books with a good deal of humor are my favorites. On the other hand, a good cry over a book isn't a bad thing. I enjoy reading the most, but I like counted cross stitch, making doll clothes, do some knitting. But the best are my grandchildren. I don't know who said it, but I totally agree. . ."if I'd known grandchildren were this much fun, I would have had them first". LOL.

Sobre a minha bibliotecaMy library does contain a little of everything and a lot of some things. I like mysteries, legal thrillers, chick lit, women's fiction and a whole lot of humor. The books that are tagged "bill" belong to my husband. There are books in every room in the house, shelved, stacked, wedged, piled too high. But still I keep adding to their numbers. The great thing about Librarything is that I have found people just like me and that is wonderful. My husband long believed that I was about the only one but I have shown him differently!

We share a lot of reading interests, although my library is considerably smaller than yours. Just thought I'd drop by and get some ideas for my own reading once in awhile. Is that okay????
(I love your biographical information: I'm soon to be a grandma, and scared stiff, as the 'mom' is my 17 year old daughter. I know I'll love the little one with all my heart, but that doesn't take the 'scare' away.)

Rebecca, I saw your review of [Help] so came over to check out your profile/library. First about your review, I love it when people share personal stories related to how they felt about a book, 'cas isn't that what reading is all about? To make a connection? When I got over here, I laughed over your comments regarding your husband's opinion about your library. You certainly showed him! ;-) Though he could still probably say you are "above average" in terms of numbers. My friends think I read a lot, but I'm just a baby compared to the LT-ers who post in the groups that I belong to. I can't figure out how they have a life and read all the books they do. It's inspiring and, yes, it sure does feel good to know that there are lots of people like me! :-)

rebecca - saw your recent adds: I just finished Remember Me and really liked, but could NOT finish Olive Kiteridge. Although I live in Maine, and usually enjoy books set here, this one did nothing for me. I wanted to smack the main character upside the head. Have you read it yet? Do you like it? I think you and I have very similar libraries and tastes. I've started reading a bit more non=fiction and have been working as a volunteer at our local small (very small) local library. I love audio books while I'm doing my needlework or when I'm driving or walking.

I'm adding you as a friend because like others who have commented, we have lots in common. if it weren't for my wonderful husband, no housework would ever get done. we're both bookaholics, and I've been trying to get all our books entered into the system. We have ONLY 65 more boxes in the attic. We moved around for years (he was in the Navy)so we just kept collecting and boxing and moving and saying 'someday when we retire'. Well, that someday is here, and even with two room built with floor to ceiling shelves (9ft ceilings) we've had to make a 'library annex' in the attic. My granddaughter only gets to visit from virginia in the summer, but she thinks coming to tutu's house is better than going to the real library.

Finally I'm a cat person, although we're 'between cats' right now.

Ah, moving can be difficult when you have a lot of books (actually, moving is never easy regardless..). I move often, usually every 12 months or so... and out of the 40+ boxes, at least 30 of them are just my books alone! I wish you and the fuzzy ones a safe move. :)

Oh my gosh, traveling with your cat sounds like so much fun! I wish we could do that, our cat does not travel well! She hates it! Your cats sound great. and cupcake does look like a Maine coon! My cat is very prissy, you can really tell she is a female. she is very lovable and spends about 50% of her time on my lap.

Well, when you do finally get to reading "Will of Wisteria" I can highly recommend it! I thought it was excellent!

The first thing i see is your cat! Is that a Maine Coon? I have a Maine Coon! and she looks alot like that. My kitty's name is Martina, after Martina McBride the country singer. what is your cats name. It's beautiful!

Moving. Ugh. All the cleaning and packing and repairing and cleaning and repairing and cleaning some more. BUT! Think about unpacking at the other end. All your books back in your hands. And the best part is running across a book you'd forgotten you had.

You do have your aspirin and heating pad handy, don't you?

I think you're me! Love to read - check. Books in every room, stacked, wedged, boxed, balanced - check. A little of everything and a lot of some things - check. Hubby who just shakes his head when we come in the door from the bookstore with not *a* book, but a BAG full (and it's only a week's worth of reading!) - check. Grandbabies who are the most perfect creations on this Earth - check. Lousy housekeepers - oh, triple check!

My husband isn't Bill - it's Phil. And we only have one child, a grown daughter, so we only have one grandson. Nathan is 20 months old and I could not live without that little boy.

I just started entering my books about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Only 738 are entered, of which you and I share about 120 so far. I know that number is going to go up when I get to the books in the attic, the garage, and over at the rented storage space!

We share over 400 books. Obviously we share a lot of the same interests in reading. I used to make a lot of doll clothes for a variety of dolls. In fact, it was a great money-maker before Christmas. I also knit & have cats. I don't have grandchildren yet, but keep hoping. Your library is great. I notice you have quilt books, are you a quilter?

I can relate...we visit friends every year that live in Kissimmee and I'm always amazed at the weather. Still I owuld miss the changes of seasons. Good luck with your move!
