Sobre mimOne of my most memorable moments in life was receiving a library card at age seven (this is really aging me)! Wow, this little card gave me access to the world. Back then the cards were made of little more than construction paper. My worst moment at the library: I took out three books, read them, and returned them the next day to check out three more. The librarian accused me of not reading them, and would not let me check out books for a week...it was a very long week.

Back to the present, I am passionate about reading good books, and I love to pass them on after I read them. So I may have a library listed, but it is mainly books I have read.

After living in North Carolina for 16 years, I am happy to be back in my "environment." I was born in Coburg, Germany in December, and while North Carolina is a lovely state, I bloom best in cool weather. My husband is from the sunny South, and hibernates in the winter.

Oh yes - the envelopes!
All done now...last of all it was hard getting them into the post boxes, but I succeeded.
What's new?

~L.
However did you guess?
Having trouble stuffing the trees into the envelopes though - they don't make glue like they used too...
Hi Irene- You always make my day, when I hear from you! I read a very positive review of the latest Stan Jones and thought the series sounded very original. I had the wife pick up the first from the library. I should be starting it later today. I have a couple more days of "Half Broke Horses", which has been very good and then I will start on "Cutting For Stone". Yes, I plan on eventually reading all of Stegner's work, non-fiction too. BTW,thanks for the compliment! I'm not much of a sci-fi reader either( no reason really) but I have read "2001" also, probably because I loved the film so much! One of these days I need to get to E.M. Forster! Have a great weekend, friend!

Irene,

I keep bees because I love them. I don't really even like honey, but love to watch the bees. They are such amazing creatures. One of God's greatest creations.
Hi, Irene
Just to let you know we picked up our mail. Brutal Telling was there.

Thank you, Cindy
Yes, it is taken from Fried Green Tomatoes. I took it because I am a beekeeper. I loved that book too.
Yu huuu! Where are you?

Belated Happy Thanksgiving! I'll remember Christmas much better as they celebrate it here too (I'm told).
We just returned from a trip to Las Vegas. We will get our mail on Friday. I will let you know if it is there.
Thanks and Happy Thanks giving. Cindy
Hi Irene! How are you, stranger! I just wanted to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving! Stay in touch friend!

Mark
Hi Irene,

I've just posted a review of "Heliopolis" on the book's page, and on my Club Read and 75 Books thread.

Best wishes,
Darryl
Irene...Here's to your growing TBR pile. I used to feel a little book pressure about mine, but now I say the more books, the more choice. I've been saving November 22, 1963 to read at the time of its occurrence in history. I am becoming a big fan of well-done historical fiction. Thank you for your comments. I hope the book is memorable for you.
I'm looking for two more copies of Brave New World.
