Sobre a minha bibliotecaMy library grows at a far more accelerated rate than it is read. It seems that I either can't stop myself from going into the local bookstores on a regular basis, or can't stop myself from buying at least one volume while I'm there. Both scenarios seem to present a problem, as I live up the road from a Schuler Books, and my friends and I still frequent the local Barnes & Noble so much that the employees know us all by name (it's like Cheers!).
As far as my library, it's a little bit of this, a little bit of that. I usually find either a subject or an author that catches my interest, and start focusing on buying books in that particular genre or by that particular author. Nothing like a little self-diagnosed OCD to make life fun!
As mentioned, I buy more books than I can read at any given point, and for awhile tried to keep a stack of books by the bed of what I wanted to read next, but when that stack grew into three, I decided that might not be the best idea. Sometimes I think I need to reduce my library or at least buy less, but as a good friend says, "One can never have too many books."

Mark and I have been discussing the possibility of another group read in November and want your input. We have narrowed it down to two books at this point. "The People of the Book" by Geraldine Brooks and "The Thirteenth Tale" by Diane Setterfield. So chat it up with friends or us and let us know if you are up for it and what you think. Probably the same plan as with "Pillars of the Earth" which seemed to work out perfectly for almost all of us.
Think it over and give one of us a shout.
hugs and looking forward to hearing from you,
belva

Someday I'll actually get to talk to the man -- this is the third or fourth thing of his that I have missed, though I am comforted by the fact that I have his Goblin trilogy already signed -- generic, but still -- though, of course, I don't have the new thing. Have you read it yet?

Thanks for the visit. I'm fine, (if you discount having spent the day at the dentist!) but up to my eyes in work for my MA. Once I see how it all pans out then I'm hoping to get the blog up and running again and visit properly. I hope you're well.
Take Care

I am totally loving my Maus box set! Thank you! When it came in the mail, I had my husband open it and wrap it (with your note) for me so I could unwrap it on Christmas! I have wanted to own this (these) book(s) eventually, but I always got sidetracked with either some dark and dirty Third Reich non-fiction or some heart-wrenching Jewish narrative. You have solved this problem for me! I don't really read too many graphic novels as my daughter does (however, I can't resist Neil Gaiman's Sandman series as my library attests), but I am sure I will be devouring the Maus books by the end of the day today! And as with any book-a-holic, what is the best Christmas present? Why, a book, of course!
Merry Christmas and enjoy your holiday time!

Did you get an email for an online book release done in chapters by the same lady who wrote the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency Series? If not let me know and I'll forward it on. I'll also probably be blogging about it later too.

I just read Pat Conroy's My Losing Season. Have you read it? I love Pat Conroy. I think I'm going to write a blog about him and his writing soon. If you haven't read it, I certainly recommend it. It's a memoir focused around his college senior basketball season. He's one of my favorite writers not only because of how and what he write but because where it comes from. Anyway, just wanted to share that since I just finished the book.
Take Care!

Just wanted to let you know I finished Dog About Town and though it was great. I think this is definitely a series I can really enjoy. Its got a great mix of unusual, humor, mystery, and character development to keep my interest. Plus for once I was not able to accurately guess the outcome. I put a review up but its not fantastic I will have to revisit it and edit it I think as I was not completely happy with it when I wrote it.
I have just started the next one whose name escapes me at this present moment as my hungry tummy is telling my loudly it is dinner time!
Cheers
Casp.
