Sobre mimI work at a college. LT helps me locate books, get tag clouds, and develop ideas. I like discussing ideas, finding friends, and discovering new things.

Updo = hairstyle involving lots of long hair piled high up on the crown of the head. Special occasion look. Takes pins, insane amounts of hairspray, time, and somewhere north of $60 for (my) hairdresser.

Good to hear from you. You might also enjoy Tamarind Woman by Anita Rau Badami. It's the story of a woman's journey. While not feminist with a capital F, it is the story of one's woman making a way for herself. A few years ago I emersed myself in Indian lit and found I really loved it. The Hero's Walk; The Death of Vishnu; Sister of My Heart are among my favorites.
You mentioned we share and interest in Thrity Umrigar. I loved, loved, loved Bombay Times. Until I read it I never heard of the Parsi religion. I have fallen in love with Indian lit.
