Hey man,
I will get back to you on a number of things soon.
Let us just say I am busy. Very.
Hi I'm new to Librarything, trying to find my way around. I saw your review of -I think it was Eclipse, who can tell them apart - I howled! You're right- "love" was 1/6 of the book- but how about Edward's various smiles- crooked, quirky, firm line, etc, etc-- or should I say ad nauseum.... I was in your position. I'm a public librarian, and all the tweens and teen females are swooning over Twilight. They were constantly pestering me to read it. I pretended I'd read it too... So then I had to slog through it. YA has become such dreck. (and I hate the term YA) I'm older- 47 - and the two younger librarians swoon over this stuff too.... I try to keep reminding myself of pub. libraries' primary mission these days.. to provide ELI (Everyday Life Information) and to just get kids to read something... but even Harry was better than Edward and Bella.. oh well...
your review of whichever Twilight it was made me laugh, thanks :-)
No, i dont got it. send it to me (old souls)
Not sure who you mean by Papa, but guessing from the other two listed, Hemmingway?
I went to a freinds house and copped a copy of Unbearable Lightness of Being. It's going on the bottom of a long list, but it has been talked up enough for me to be curious.
Currently reading The God Delusion and The Sheltering Sky as well as Mythologies and the short stories of Nabokov.
Hey, you got time in your life for 4,000 words or so of mine? I am getting stuff done out here.
And, that was the best review you wrote.
Stephenie Meyer?
Really?
Gladwell is a horse's ass.
How's the kid, by the by.
I have to ask.
How the hell did Giantslayer jump the shark.
It's Warhammer, shouldn't that just be common sense.
In other news, I am on the move. Expect things. I might just knock on your door one of these days.

Hi,

Was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Saw you liked Paris Trout, and I thought you might like my novel since it's also southern and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Thanks,

Also, for your personal background, check out Gustav Dore's illustrations. He did the Divine Comedy, Paradise Lost, Bible, a bunch of others.
Dante. With Dante, it's all about the translation. The Robert Hollander is the best. Also, don't stop at the inferno. That's not how the story is supposed to work. It would be like reading just the first act of Streetcar named Desire and trying to take a greater meaning from it. Do the whole Commedia. Worth it.
As for Donny Q, if i can be inspired listening to Burroughs, I'm sure you will get something out of it. Pass a link on will ya?
I didn't know this was a pissing contest. Let me get to work on that. In the mean time, Yes, Timmy is down the well.
All you're reading these days is stuff about wood working.
Really? Has it come to that?
Great Picture!

Mike
Hey cowboy, another way to keep in touch after tomorrow, when--after the big day--you will head down to the Lone Star. Keep in touch my son's friend! Look at my favorites from time to time, and I shall look at yours. I am sure I'll have something to learn from you regardless of my "earlier" start in life!
All the best, I do hope to see a lot of you in the future.
Love to you and Lillian!
I totally love your review of Moby Dick. One of my all-time favorite books, and now with an all-time favorite review to go with it.
I'll read your good books, and I'll continue to read books outside of your interests. I like the two quotations in your profile darlin'.
