Sobre mimI'm the fourth of six children, most of whom are/were big readers. I grew up in a house surrounded by books and was always allowed to read whatever I pleased at any age. This has lead me to my having rather eclectic reading tastes. When I'm not reading, I'm an inveterate bookcrosser, working as a legal assistant for a San Diego law firm, going to the theater, traveling, or wandering the beautiful County of San Diego.

Sobre a minha bibliotecaSince nearly my entire library is on bookcrossing, I don't feel the need to use that feature here. Instead, I use LT for books I am reading or have read since joining LT. Any book finished will contain a small "review" of my thoughts on the book. I don't generally write expansive reviews both because of lack of time and I fear spoiling the plot for others. My "reviews" are intended only to remind me in the future what I thought of the book.

I was glad to see you enjoyed [Kafka on the Shore] and [The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle]! Those are my two favorite Murakamis. Bizarre, but wonderful. Steppenwolf Theater here in Chicago adapted Kafka on the Shore and After the Quake as plays, which was fun. The latter in particular was great.

Anyway, pardon my enthusiasm, but it's fun to see someone else enjoying those books!

Maggie, I got my book, thank you! I wish I could send a book back to you, but hopefully what goes around comes around. I'm going to send a book off to Australia, so I feel a little bit better about accepting your book. Now I'm going to go read it. Take care and happy reading! Bonnie

P.S. Loved the Nancy Drew Postcard! :-)
Hi Maggie

Are you Secretariat on bookcrossing?

I'm FreePages on BC.

Just finished reading The Blood of Flowers and loved it. I found you through your review.

Happy reading :-)
P.S. Well, as you can maybe tell, I'm starting with older postings first. I can't believe I "dissed" you! You offered me a book and I totally ignored you--I have no ideas why! I apologize! I would love to trade books with you if you still have yours to offer. I'm going to make a new collection of books I'm willing to trade. Maybe I'll do that today instead of all the work I should be doing. ;-) Bonnie
I was going through the older postings on my profile and realized that I hadn't followed up on my reaction to The Absolutely True Story of a Part-Time Indian. I was surprised, and a bit disappointed for a few minutes, that this book was written for children, but then got into it and absolutely loved it. Very funny huh? I think if he had left out the few masturbation comments, I could have even recommend this book to late elementary students. Great book!
Hi, I just checked the what are you reading the week of August 1st? right now, I am reading them in English and I am really enjoying the series so far,A friend of mine is bringing me The Demigod Files so I will have the whole Percy Jackson experience :D (some LT friends told me that I should read that one between the 4th and the 5th book). Have a great day and happy reading!

Ron
Thank you Maggie for your nice comment on my profile page!
Yes, something I really appreciate myself about LT are all the thoughts and local experiencies from members all over the globe. Glad to be able to make a small contribution from my corner of the world to this great international group of book-lovers once in a while.
