Sobre mimFive Things About Me:
1. I'm a novelist ([Janeology], 2008, www.karenharringtonbooks.com). Watch the book trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSPiPf7BU... - or visit my website to read an excerpt - http://www.karenharringtonbooks.com
2. I can't live without books, tomatoes, bread, coffee and wine.
3. My favorite job is now being a mother of two girls, ages 5 and 3, but I do sometimes miss the challenges of being a corporate speechwriter. I hope to return to that one day.
4. My favorite authors: Ernest Hemingway, Elizabeth Berg and Michael Ondaatje.
5. I am particularly fond of people who know the origins of the phrase "Haaaaaaatttt Paaaaahkettt" as well as the quote "I have a clear conscience, but that does not make me innocent." If you know the origins of these two quotes, we have a lot in common!
Sobre a minha bibliotecaIt is growing. I'm a book hoarder. How to choose?
And it's very ecclectic. I'm just as happy with great literature as I am with something lighter and funnier that I can read by the pool.

Hey, when I google my domain 50 LibraryThing sites come up for me in different languages. Would you have any idea why? I probably clicked something I shouldn't have.
Best

I read about your novel on LisaMM's blog (if I recall, her sister has the same name as you); what a coincidence to get your invite this morning.
I'm curious as to what on my profile "triggered" your invite ... earlier this week (in the TuesdayThingers post for 6/24) that I don't tend to invite people as friends on LT, that I'm more likely to communicate via the forums or commenting on blogs (hoping that doesn't make me antisocial, I've concluded that it's part of the anonimity I prefer ... although I just posted a pic of me at an author reading I attended, no more hiding behind a curtain!)
You can read more about it on my blog
I see we share some of my favorite books, and both have more to enter!
(embarrassed to say I don't know the answer to either question posed on your profile ... are you going to rescind the invitation?)

I see that you're a writer. I envy your drive and dedication. Maybe someday I'll find that little spark I need.

Also, I noticed that you're not designated as a "LT Author." Have you considered that? You can get a fancy graphic next to your name! =)
Take care,
Jill

Are you requesting any of the latest batch of ER books? I'm requesting A Week in October and Inglorius. Do you think it's better to request a lot of them, or just one or two? I got one from the April batch (I requested a bunch of them) and another in May (I only requested two). Those are the only two months I've requested. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.
Take care,
~Lisa

I'm almost done with your book! I really should get off the computer and go read.

#2 I would have a hard time living without those things too.. but I could get by as long as there was chocolate.
#5. Those quotes. I'm going to guess Haaaaaat Paaaahhhketttt is actually Hot Pockets- the frozen sandwich snack thingy? And the quote is I believe from the bible- isn't it? New Testament?
Good to see you here!

Thanks for the friend invite. I didn't know you were a Hemingway fan. His work (and life) were an inspiration to me from when I first read Farewell to Arms at the age of 14. That was a long, long, long time ago. When my wife and I visited his house in Key West a couple of years ago, I literally got all teary-eyed just looking into the loft where he worked.
Anyway, glad to have you as a friend,
Dave
