Next year (2007) will bee 200 years that Jounot came to Portugal at the head of a French army, therofore I think it will be the time for us to think about it ....what actualy happened, what the history books tell, the English help/intervention etc etc.
How many books one have on the subject ? History, fiction, old wives talles from some old village ?
Actually I dont have books about that matter. My father as lots of them, mainly english and american ones.
Jounot troops crosses my region. There´s even a Museum in Buçaco (near Aveiro/Coimbra - Portugal) dedicated only to the French invasion.
Buçaco was a very important battle in the peninsular wars. Here's what happened:
