Nov 22, 2006, 9:54pm (topo)Mensagem 1: timspaldingThe Biblioteca Francisco Pereira de Moura is now in the library list. It works, although I don't know what the coverage will be like. Probably not great for most of your needs. I also found a lot of UNIMARC-based libraries (see http://zzz.porbase.org/view/targetList.d...). Some day I'll get them to work, but UNIMARC is so different from MARC21, that it will take all sorts of backflips. Nov 25, 2006, 1:49pm (topo)Mensagem 2: syrinThanks for the first portuguese library. I'm hoping some other can be added soon! Were you guys able to look into any of the other sources on the list? It would help a lot. Biblioteca Francispo Pereira de Moura is not that good on the fiction side. I have contacted Maria Margarida Lopes (i can mail you her address again) of our National Library (Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal http://www.bn.pt/) to know if their catalog used the Z39.50 Protocol that LibraryThing uses to access other libraries, she has confirmed that their catalog should be in conformity and has shown interest in including the national catalog in the list of sources for LibraryThing. Would you then be interested in adding the Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal as a searchable source in your website?" Just reminding you of it! Alguém me sabe explicar? Aquele abraço? Jul 14, 2008, 9:00pm (topo)Mensagem 8: caseydurfeeRecently we've gotten a couple of requests for more Portuguese sources, in particular Porbase and Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal. I have spent hours and hours of time trying to get those sources to work and have been unsuccessful. Sorry. Porbase encodes accented characters in a non-standard way. I cannot find any information on the web about what character encoding they are using. I manually tested every character encoding I've ever heard of, and none of them were correct. So we can search against their system, but the data we get back is useless. Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal returns zero search results no matter what you search on. There isn't any error message from their server, just no results. I would love to get these sources working, but it's not possible at this point. Nov 2, 2008, 1:35pm (topo)Mensagem 11: tbppugliais it possible for us to have access to the full texts of the books we find here? or is this site just a place to talk about the books without having the texts?
