Hello Fellow Librarians!

Is anyone out there planning on attending the ALA Annual Conference?

I'm not a librarian, so I won't be at the conference, but I am a Chicagoan, and would be thrilled to meet up with some fellow Thingamabrarians.

And if you need advice on what to see/do should you have a spare moment, just ask! (Go see the Art Institute's new Modern Wing, for one thing.)

It's true! I'm going. I am also interested in meeting up with all the in/famous Thingamabrarians. Perhaps Sunday evening? (I don't know Tim's schedule yet, but I know he gets into town on Sunday.)

I will definitely drop by LT's booth, but I keep looking at my schedule and trying to figure out where I could fit in a meet-up, and it's just not happening. Sunday evening is right out, and Monday evening is not looking good either. *sigh* It's times like these when the ability to be in two places at once would be really handy.

7: lilithcat, you could get a day pass for the conference and pick up a bunch of free ARCs. :)

ALA is NOT the place to get free ARCs. Do BEA. Librarians get squat. Publishing types are showered with stuff.

I'm not a librarian, but as a writer of historical fiction, librarians are surely my friends!

I am an Library Thing author, and I will be signing at the Penguin Booth #2020 at McCormick Place West from 10:30 to 11:30 on Tuesday the 14th.

I just added this info to my "events" and I thought I'd pop in here to see if any of you wonderful librarians are planning on attending the conference. If you are, I hope you might stop by on Tuesday and and say hello! :-)

I went to ala and got tons of arcs and had boxes to ship home. I did notice that most of the arcs were ya which is what I read so I was happy. I got Catching Fire so I was happy.
