Tópico:  Looking for libraries who use LibraryThing in conjunction with Sirsi-Dynix Web 2.0 0 / 6 lidas

My library uses Sirsi-Dynix's Web 2.0. I had recommended that we add some of the features available from LibraryThing, including being able to use the free cover images. Our integrated library team worked on this for a while, but had to abandon it. There were some obstacles that they could not see to get around. One of the stated issues was that no other library with the same ILS as us was using LibraryThing. I was wondering if there are any libraries out there who do use LT. Please let me know if you do and your experiences with it.

Thank you.

Do you mean Web2 by chance?

Yes -- I am getting a little confused with the library 2.0 talk (I'm a cataloguer, not a systems librarian). Do you use Web2?

Are you talking about using the LibraryThing for Libraries subscription service (which puts tags and recommendations into your library catalog)?

If so, please email me (casey at librarything dot com) so I can track down what happened and get you back on track. We have several Web2 customers using LibraryThing for Libraries and have for a while.

You'd be on your own as far as figuring out the free covers, though.

Thanks for the offer but we were specifically trying to figure out how to display the free covers. We are looking into the subscription service however.

Sorry for late reply. I don't use Web2 but worked on the team that developed it for several years. I think that what you're trying to do would be quite difficult. I *think* one of the Web2 libraries in Arizona was trying to do this a few years ago - I want to say it was Phoenix Public Library. If the Web2 listserv is still active, you might want to ask there.
