I absolutely love the Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini and cannot wait for the next book. Can anyone recommend some Eragonesque books to read while I wait? I love my fantasy with action, romance and a touch of comedy. I am a huge fan of J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S Lewis, and T.H White. Thanks!

I suggest Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher (kids' book but one of the inspirations for Eragon), A Wizard of Earthsea, and anything by Anne McCaffrey (another inspiration for Eragon.)

Naomi Novik is big right now with her Temararie novels. There are many Eragonesque books, and if you search enough on the forums you will find that many think Paolini is not the greatest of writers, so the many books recommended to you might be from some great writers.

Tolkien, White, Lewis suggest you like heroic quest fantasy. How about some Eddings?

One's a hefty children's book, and the other is young-adult fantasy, but I enjoyed both Dragon Rider and Dragon's Milk. (I think the second is now part of a trilogy.)
