Welcome, Mike. I remember you from my Austin days. I recall hearing you speak a couple of times, maybe back around the time you wrote your book on Henry Lee Lucas (a very sick person).
Don't you have some connection with law enforcement? I seem to remember that you worked for the DPS. Am I mistaken?
Anyway, I hope you enjoy your LT discussions.
Yep, I was a spokesman for the DPS for 15 years. I left in 2000, worked briefly in the private sector, then went back to work for the state as communications manager for TxDOT, the highway department. I retired two years ago and have been writing full time since then, though I have been a freelance writer for 40-plus years.
I was interested in your topic of The Texas Rangers because of my favorite T.V. show "Walker, Texas Ranger". I dont know if this was based on a true story, but I was fascinated by its content
and caring for the indians who lost their land. Chuck Norris was the star of the show and I have seen all the re-runs.
