This book is about a family that seems to be troubled by their parents' arguing, but they are excited about the return of Larry, the oldest child. This book is told from the perspective of Genny, the oldest girl, and third oldest child in the family. Even though the book was dated in the language it used, it offered a real-world situation that they overcame. I like how the author offered a book that was not sugar coated, but offered a child's perspective on an issue that happens to over half of married couples in America.
