This time the Xanth series veers off sharply to new characters, though some of the old favorites are still around. Still funny and punny, though sometimes the puns and word plays are a bit stretched. ( )

This is an excellent fantasy novel. There is humor, action, quests, everything that you could ever want in a good read. This one is a bit scary, and you'll encounter a formidable antagonist. I started reading this series when I was about twelve, and I was hooked. I'm in my late twenties now, and I still enjoy many of the Xanth books. ( )

Not as good as some of the others in this series, but definitely a respectably fun book. ( )
