Neil Anderson was at the forefront of a movement within the Evangelical church that began about 18 years ago emphasizing knowing your identity in Christ. It became extremely popular as a means of fighting the dark forces which impede our spiritual growth. At the heart of the thesis is a list called Who Am I--a list taken from scripture such as "I am the salt of the earth." "I am a child of God" and "I am righteous and holy." Anderson believes that if we know the truth about ouselves, truth because God in His word says so, we will then be able to work out practical aspects of maturing as a Christian. An important section later in the book deals with spiritual strongholds (addictions) that can not be overcome under our own power. He talks about the battle for the mind (temptation) and the necessity of "capturing thoughts" in the first frame of their existence in the mind rather than allowing them to grow to where they are acted upon. Lots of useful information with interesting illustrations from Anderson's years of counseling but perhaps too much emphasis put upon only one avenue of Christian maturity. ( )Many of the concepts of this book are foundational for the Christian. By seeing who we are in Christ, we will be able to overcome the false messages that have been placed in our mind by the world, both the beings of the spiritual world and the people of the physical world. I have recommended this book to several people and have used many of the principles to help people in pastoral care sessions. While you may not agree with everything in the book, it is based on sound Biblical and traditional doctrine. I have heard it said, "If two people agree on everything, one of them is unnecessary." Terrible theology from weak scriptural inference. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
