( ) Reviewed by Sabrina ebook provided by Ellora's Cave Reader Advisory: Not for the faint of heart, the pain in this story is vivid and real, the emotions even more so. Haunting and poignant, Finding Eden presents a darker side of BDSM. You might gasp. You might cry. You might find yourself reading it again and again. Review: Warning... there may be spoilers ahead. I almost really liked this book. I love M/M and BDSM. Usually when you put the two together I find the outcome is spectacular. I think the main reason I had such a problem with this book is it tried to market itself to me as a romance. I found no romance in the main character's relationship with each other. They were best friends since childhood. OK, I could see that. Then one plays in dangerous BDSM circles and the friend pulls him out one night in confusion and tries to understand what is going on. That leads to sex. Painful sex. I was cringing sex, and I don't normally do that unless dubious consent is going on. This goes on for two days. Big argument. The bottom goes back to playing dangerously. He gets really hurt and the top goes to get him. I would think from here that things would develop romantically for them. But instead all I saw was someone that needed therapy (badly) and the other refusing to acknowledge it. He continues to hurt the other person. I don't care that the person is asking for it, I am drawing a line. This was not romance. This was not love. This was someone abusing someone else and them both getting off on it. This isn't an issue. Sometimes I read those stories, though not often. But don't try to tell me this was romance. After having read Beyond Eden (m/m/f), Kele Moon's first novel, I was most anxious to read this m/m prequel, showing us how Paul and Danny went from teen-age best friends to lovers. This story includes some rather edgy BDSM play, and though I can be a bit squeamish about the darker stuff, I found it fascinating, very well written and ultimately, smoking hot! The relationship between Danny as Dom and Paul as submissive was very intense and it took Danny a while to work out how to take responsibility for Paul's safety and well-being. It's a journey of self-discovery and change, especially for Danny. Highly recommend for BDSM and M/M fans. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica

Handsome, angry and spoiled, Danny Carlow struggles to find his place in the world when his hatred for authority makes survival difficult. The only thing keeping him from completely giving up and turning to a life of crime is his friendship with clean-cut Paul Mattling. More than his conscience and best friend, Paul's also the one Danny secretly pines for with every ounce of his being.Paul is a natural over-achiever with a football scholarship and straight A's to boast about. Yet he's haunted by an abusive childhood that's left him more scarred than anyone realizes. Looking for an escape from his demons, Paul has his own deviant secrets, ones he doesn't want anyone, especially Danny, to know about. When dark desires are accidentally revealed, Danny and Paul end up coming together in a clash of wild passion more tumultuous than either of them could have anticipated. Tasting the forbidden is sweet, but it turns the tables on their relationship, putting everything, even their lifelong friendship, in jeopardy.Reader Advisory: This story visits the dark side of BDSM, where the only thing more intense than the scenes the characters participate in, is the love they have for one another. Please note there is a very brief F/F encounter. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
